The horrific details of the Blackpool abuse case, and the belief amongst social workers that Charlene Downes had been visited by sixteen middle aged white men known to her father, mean the BNP should be duly investigated by the authorities. Long before the Blackpool case emerged, and the rumours surrounding the disappearance of Charlene Downes, members of the BNP were spotted using social media popular with young people. Many BNP members had profiles on a UK-only forerunner to Facebook called Faceparty which was renowned for being used by underage members. The website had developed quite a reputation as a playground for sexual predators, so much so, Faceparty had to have a clean-up, banning older members and removing the profiles of under18s.
Rumours of swingers parties organised amongst the BNP, utilising Faceparty were rife in the mid 00's. Several key BNP members were known to attend such events, according to rebels who used to post on blogs such as Lancaster Unity and anti-Griffin blogs. Whether such gatherings involved underage girls, and anything criminal went on, nobody knows, but the worryingly immoral edge to Nick Griffin's BNP was cited by the "rebels" as one of the reasons they fell out of love with Griffin's leadership.
Finally, there was Mark Collett from Leeds. He was given a "code of conduct" warning for apparently trying to sleep with an underage girl in a hotel in Blackpool, of all places, according to the rebel's Alas Smith and Graham blog and the Enough Is Enough BNP leadership challenge blog.
