Organizers of the border camp in Krynki (in the north-east of Poland) face repression and intimidation from the Polish police and Office of StateProtection (UOP, secret intelligence service). The border camp will start with a demonstration in Bialystok on the 6th of July and afterwards continue until the 12th of the same month in Krynki - near the Belorussian border.
The chief of county authorities, in accordance with the police, prohibited the organization of the event in Krynki. The manager of a cultural centre in Krynki, who agreed to host some of the camp activities (discussions, expositions, lectures) in the center, was fired by the county chief. Moreover the county chief plans to call riot police squadrons to Krynki during the border camp and charge the fired manager with the costs of this act.
In Warsaw three undercover cops or secret intelligence officers kidnapped one Warsaw anarchist. The woman was pushed inside a car and threatened with a gun while they tried to get information from her about the organizing details. They also tried to intimidate her with legal charges and harassment in prison ("We can organize you a camp in a jail that you will remember very well").
In Bialystok, the activists of a local anarchist group are being intimidated by police and the UOP. Police announced that the demonstration in Bialystok "can finish in a bad way" and the camp participants wouldn't even be able to get to the camp location. In addition, the UOP has tried to intimidate one person with documents that were to be used against him in a court if he appears at the demonstration.
Camp organizers are thinking about changing the location of the camp. The organizing details have been classified and they will be revealed just before the beginning of the camp.
