What`s going on these days has only convinced me more that we really do live in an Invisible Dictatorship, we just don`t see it. Most people would argue that we live in a "democracy", a "free" country where anybody can speak out and say his word. And that is relatively true, altho I still believe we`re only able to say what we`re left to say. but can one ACT if the situation gets drastic? if the State`s repression escalates to an effective new form of fascism how can the people react? the men who fought these century`s dictatorship [i come from italy and have a great knowledge of the partisan struggle] were men of great courage and their fight was certainly not an easy one but because of the State`s technological knowledge the control it had on the people was relative and organizing a revolution was possible through great effort. and it could be said that in many cases the revolutions through history were fought with the same weapons on both sides [THEY now have weapons we son`t even know of!]. could all this be possible today? could organizing and anti-government organization be possible when every communication system is controlled? some people say that we can`t look back at history but have to find new ways to fight. which is true but still the sense of impotence i sometimes feel when thinking about what we could do in case of the government coming down on us is overwhelming.
just a tormented thought.
