BNP wins council by-election

(BBC report) | 15.08.2003 09:38

The British National Party has won another council by-election, to gain its 17th local council seat in England.

Far-right candidate David Exley won the Heckmondwike by-election for Kirklees council in West Yorkshire on Thursday evening.

The BNP polled 1,607, beating the Liberal Democrats into second place.

As Mr Exley left the count at Batley Town Hall he was greeted by about 50 demonstrators shouting anti-Nazi slogans.

At least one man was led away by officers, after apparently throwing a placard over the police line.

Before he left the building Mr Exley said: "I was talking common sense, it's as simple as that."

Asked what he could do for the people of Heckmondwike, he said: "Come and meet me, speak to me. I will make myself available to anyone.

Labour reaction

Labour party candidate Florence Smith said the BNP "had made a lot of empty promises to the electorate".

She said: "The BNP have nothing to offer local people and their councillor will ultimately let the people of Heckmondwike down."

Labour Party chairman Ian McCartney said his party now had to redouble its efforts in the area to win the support of local people.

He said: "We are disappointed with this result. We ran a good campaign and had a strong candidate.

"Nasty, extremist and racist, the BNP got in narrowly on the back of empty promises and bogus respectability."

The council leader, councillor Kath Pinnock, a Liberal Democrat, told BBC Radio Leeds: "People were frustrated by difficulties in the area and have shown their frustrations by voting BNP."

The result of the election was: David Exley (BNP) 1607; Tabasum Aslam (Lib Dem) 1493; Tim Crowther (Independent) 1147; Florence Smith (Labour) 982; Roger Roberts (Conservative) 490; Heidi Smithson (Green) 76.

The election was called after Labour councillor Tim Crowther resigned to run as an independent.

"Stopping" the BNP won't help

Stopping the BNP won't help. The voters are the ones you need to stop. Look at the reasons why people are not voting for the 'official' parties (it's not hard to see what the reasons are) and do something about them.

the whole hog

People are voting for the nazi BNP, because of New Labour's lead in flirting with fascism through it's home social and foreign policies and anti asylum seeker zenophobia. Because new labour/old tory/old national socialists have paid initial lip service to zenaphobic anti refugee/immigrant ranting, this has sparked the general public's interest in fascist policies and fueled acceptance of extreme right wing neo nazi social policies, thus people have gone the whole hog and voted for the nazi BNP, instead of the diluted watered down new labour/old national socialist fascists.

THE NAZI HYDRA

15.08.2003 14:35

Anybody see film 'The Damned' this is nazism/fascism in its entirety. Where the vicious sexual pervert/child molester son works his way up through the nazi hierarchy to become SS Gestapo head. This is nazism in its entirety. The trail of emotional devastion and suffering he leaves behind him, as he claws his way to the top of the nazi shite pile.

The book the 'The Nazi Hydra' details CIA involvment in 'Operation paperclip' where nazi german war criminal scientists were spirited out of post war Germany to work for US intelligence agency research. One nazi german scientist renamed Michael Aquino, research into sexual abuse, used inmates from Dachau concentration camp. Aquino studied the pychological effects of sexual abuse/torture on Dachau inmates including children. His research was seen as valuable to the anti communist post war intelligence services. Nazi Aquino was also heavily involved in ancient germanic occult practises, as was Adolf hitler, whose nazi castles/buildings bear black magic symbols. Hitlers murder of millions was seen as the ultimate blood sacrifice black magic occult ritual. Nazi Aquino combined germanic occult rituals with child abuse practises. He was arrested whilst working at a US army base for child sexual abuse. This is nazism in its entirety.

tho I presume Reality Calling is a scummy little nazoid - I agree with him that the ANL sometimes doesn't help anyone but the likes of his nasty little heroes - trouble being that the BNP and other fascist organisations are so infiltated in their leadership levels by MI5 agents, that they are nothing more than pig-ignorant tools at the hand of the secret government, as so ably described in one of its emanations by Pym.

Get on to those estates.

16.08.2003 13:14

Only by getting on to those BNP voting estates and working alongside the people to
improve their lives will the Nazis be kicked out onto the dungheap.
There is an estate in Bexley,Kent that did just that where the Council ,local Unions and
comm' groups got together to address the problems. I may not agree with all the solutions
(i.e. CCTV cams) but their lives improved and the Nazi votes disappeared.
Would that the SWP/ANL stop shouting and selling papers and actually did the above, they
might get somewhere.
The days of kicking them off the streets may have worked in the 70's,but not now.

National campaigns etc must continue, but not to the detriment of the above. Also getting
direct, participatory democracy ideas across along with human rights and eco-friendly
ideas into peoples everyday lives at local level can be slotted into this-not rammed
down throats a la SWP.

In the ,slightly, longer term being rid of 'politicians' would solve it.
