The media gave plenty of coverage (although a few photographers nearly got run over by buses and trams while trying to get good shots!) and a short article was shown on the evening news on one of the local English language TV channels.
Hong Kong has a huge number of Animal Rights issues, including the live animal markets and the sale of sharks fins. This was the first protest by this group of activists, who numbered just 6. It was great to see so much press coverage (all the English language papers carried photos and many of the Chinese ones too) for a protest by such a small number of people.
Getting people motivated to stand up for the rights of animals in CHina is a hard task, but this protest shows that even with a few people and a little imagination you can have an effect.
