Traveller Site Raided...

More than 150 police from four different forces, a police helicopter and 35 vehicles were used to raid a Traveller site in York on Thursday. In the early morning all residents were removed from their homes and all dwellings were searched.

A massive 'multi-agency' raid on all the homes at the site in the early morning, described by a senior officer as 'heavy handed', has resulted in a total of 12 reported arrests, all these released on bail. Outreach worker was refused access.
