Another Death in Detention as UK detained Zimbabweans enter 6th day of Hunger Strike

Ranzan Kumluca a 19-year-old asylum seeker from Turkey was found hanging in his room at Campsfield Removal Centre in the early hours of this morning, attempts by staff to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. All detainees at the removal centre will refuse to take their midday meal today in protest at the unnecessary and untimely death. Detainees at the Centre say that Ranzan had been detained for about 6 months and had made three unsuccessful bail applications.

Are the Home Office in Denial
'No Dignity in life No dignity in Death', once again the Home Office press office will neither confirm or deny that another asylum seeker has died in detention. When Sergey Barnuyck and Tran Quang Tung died in detention last year the Home Office would not release their names or even confirm that anyone had died.

- Political and Public dissent at the continued deportations of Zimbabweans grows by the hour

Detained UK Zimbabweans have decided to extend their 'Hunger Strike' against detention and deportation indefinitely. Their decision to continue the huger strike has been because they feel that the Home Office are ignoring their pleas not to be deported and ignoring the growing 'Political and Public' dissent over the last six days against the continuing hard line stance of the Home Office.
