A day to discuss mobilising a group from Nottingham to take part in Faslane 365. We will be going up to faslane to join a year long blockade of Britain's nuclear weapons base for two days in spring. Come along on sunday to get more information, share ideas, make banners and eat cake!
Faslane 365 is a civil resistance project aimed at the disarmarment of Britian’s nuclear weapons through a continuous peaceful blockade of the Trident base at Faslane. Faslane 365 will bring people together to witness and impede the nuclear facility where Britain's weapons of mass destruction are based. It will also enable us to draw attention to other urgent issues such as environment and NHS funding.
Nottingham CND have also organised a meeting which is on the 16th November.

Trident submarine
Information Day 3-8 at the ASBO community space. Drop in any time. Banner making, clowning, films and cake! This is your chance to get invovled in a unique direct atcion against Trident, Britian’s nucleaur weapons program. Action is needed now: The government is currntly in the process of deciding wether or not to replace trident. Tony blair has already put the prospect of spending between £40 and £76 billion on the renewal on the political agenda. This would keep nuclear weapons in Scotland until at least the year 2055
Faslane 365 will draw attention to the dangerous insecurity and waste of resources inherent in the Trident nuclear system, and will mobilise support for these nuclear mistakes to be disarmed. In preventing nuclear 'business as usual' we also intend to highlight our real, human security needs, which will require a very different allocation of resources and action.
Nottingham will be playing its part in the Faslane blockade early next spring and we anticipate a powerful presence.There is plenty to do before the blokade – particularly in terms of, publicity, planning the action and raising funds.

Nottm Faslane Blockade Dates Announced

Informal meeting on Thursday 21st December for anyone wishing to support the Faslane 365 Campaign, a civil resistance project calling for the disarmament of Britain's nuclear weapons by a continuous peaceful blockade of the Trident base at Faslane, Scotland.
Drop by at the ASBO Community Space, 35 Burns Street, Arboretum to get more information and have a chat with people supporting this campaign.
There will be a report back from the recent Staffordshire Blockade (16th-19th Dec) from 7.30pm. Come along during the afternoon for a practical session of banner and prop making (and preparations for ASBO's solstice party on the 22nd
