The two members of parliament of Rifondazione passed the night in the calabrian center and were only removed by the authorities on Sunday.
At the same time, tens of activists of the antiracist networks of the Campania and the Calabria occupied the motorway that connects Crotone to the airport, where they take migrants to be deported on the special flights, whose only crime is to try and escape misery and war and come to Italy.

It would be hard to imagine any radical or progressive English members of parliament staging an equivalent protest here in the UK.
John McDonell, the current hard left contender for the Labour Party Leadership, in whose constituency lies Harmondsworth and Colnsbrook detention centres, main demand is that such prisons should be taken off the privat companies and run directly by the state, rather than abolished as an afront to our common humanity.
Check it out on his blog!
I mean state controlled prisons for people who have not comitted crimes are so progressive compared to privately run ones - just look at the Soviet Union.
