Brian Haw for London Mayor?
This will be the ultimate people versus the state campaign. People Power in Action.
Ofcourse we have to persuade him to stand first.
But i cannot see any reason why he cant run and win.
I watched his google video and this man really is a highly eloquent and knowledgeable individual.
He has sacrificed so much to launch his one man crusade. Now it is time the rest of us took up the baton and joined his campaign and tried to get him elected London Mayor.
It really makes a great deal of sense for him to run as an independant.
I watched his video and must say that i agreed with EVERY single word he said. I have never agreed with anyone as much ever in my life.
If you support the idea of Brian Haw becoming a candidate for London Mayor please post your comments of support. I think he is the best candidate and will certainly do a far better job than the crooked Ken Livingstone.

On the negative side, if he does decide to run, he will need to get his political machinery (infrastructure, manifesto, support campaigns, advertising, etc.) sorted PDQ and will hence need a shed load of volunteers and even some benefactors.
1. see if he'll go for it. Anyone have meaningful contact with him - i.e. where he will take you seriously and sincerely?
2. if yes, then post here and let's get the wheels moving, rapido!!

For an example, just look at how "red" Ken Livingstone has defended Met chief Ian Blair in the case of the murder of Jean Charles de Menezes...

brian is a brilliant and effective single issue activist, concentrating all his energy and committment on exposing the lies and the liars that have led to so many innocents murdered for corporate gain.
with socpa and other harassment, the guilty authorities have spent an enormous amount of time and effort to try and rid themselves of his constant conscientious vigil.
people should support him in that and help him to remain there until the day the murderers are brought to justice. a mayoral campaign would soon become a side show imo.

There are other anti-war candidates (well at least one) who actually have a ready made base of support and know what they're doing, I'd suggest that instead of trying to win a few votes/activists away from these campaigns people should join one of them.
The problem is that if Brian stands and gets a dismal vote it allows the right to say "look, less than one percent of the population are opposed to the war, far less than voted for Labour." I don't think we should hand them that opportunity frankly.
