The following is a chronological list of FREE/cheap/fundraising events self-organised by Greater Manchester’s LGBTQI Community, which everyone is welcome to attend:
Saturday 9th Feb —
* Lesbian Gay Youth Manchester (LGYM) under 25’s meet @ LGBT Centre 1:30pm for Ourspace Project, Whitworth Art Gallery.

* Crow of Murders, FREE entry, Queer performance poetry led by
Dominic Berry and Lisa B @ Space 2, Contact Theatre, Oxford Rd, from 8:30pm.
Sunday 10th Feb —
* Queer Veggie Café 11am – 4pm. We aim to provide a safe, welcoming space for queer people and allies to meet up with friends and/or other activists, to chill out, socialise and eat yummy vegan and veggie food (which of course will be clearly labelled) and have lots of tea. Please bring food to share if you're able.
All are welcome - bring your friends. Sidney Street LGBT Centre, off Oxford Road, opposite Man. Met Students Union Main Entrance, behind 8th Day.

Start of LGBT Awareness Week run by University of Manchester Student Union LGBT Society: http://www.lgbt.manchester.ac.uk/
Trans, Gender and Queer Awareness
11am -12 pm - Trans and Queer Workshop by Harri Weeks - MR1
7pm - Film showing of Mirror Mirror and Hedwig and the Angry Inch - Bikos Cafe (basement of the SU)
Tuesday 12th Feb — International Rights, Faith and Sexuality
12-2pm - Debate with religious reps on faith and sexuality - Bikos Cafe (basement of the SU) followed by free lunch
3-4pm - Protest outside Samuel Alexander building with Amnesty against violence towards LGBT people internationally. Come along and bring as many friends as possible.
7pm - Quiz by the lovely hosts Amy and Jon - Council Chambers

Wednesday 13th Feb — Sexual Health
12-1pm - Sexual health workshop, Ann Summers Style! - MR1
1.30 - GENERAL MEETING - Priorities Ballot placed Love Without Borders: International LGBT Rights as number 1!
7.30pm onwards - Retro/Radical - Fashion show! at Club Underground to raise money for Terrence Higgins Trust (North Campus SU) followed by afterparty at BaaBar.
Thursday 14th Feb — Valentine’s Day
1-2pm - Civil Partnerships vs. Marriage - Are We Equal talk by Jennie - MR1
4.30-7pm – Valentine’s Tea Dance in association with the Riveters to raise money for Amnesty International with free wine. Tickets are £3 from the stall - Council Chambers
All Day - Protest on Union Steps - write your thoughts on Civil partnerships on the wedding dress!
Friday 15th Feb — LGBT History Month
1pm - Rainbow hug on steps of Students' Union. Wear a colour of the rainbow and join us in celebrating being LGBT!
7pm - Film showing of Maurice - venue TBC
* Women’s Space Fundraiser!
15th February 2008, Chorlton Irish Centre from 8pm. Entrance is 4/3 pounds. Tickets are available from the LCP or you can pay on the door. All Women Welcome. All proceeds go to Lesbian Community Project running Pride Women's Space. http://www.manchesterlcp.org.uk

* 2pm - Edward Carpenter — Love and the Labour Movement in the 1880s and 1890s, a talk by Sheila Rowbotham at the Working Class Movement Library, 51 The Crescent, Salford. http://www.wcml.org.uk
* 3-7pm – Under 25’s LGBT History Month Project, Image Collage for T-Shirt designs @ Sideny Street LGBT Centre. http://www.lgym.org.uk

* 7pm – Provincial Queens: a Liber8! Event organised by News From Nowhere Bookshop, 96 Bold St, Liverpool. Dr Mike Homfray introduces his new book "Provincial Queens: Gay & Lesbian Community in the North-West of England". http://www.newsfromnowhere.org.uk
* From 8pm - Calling all 25 year olds and under! Open Consultation Meeting with Young People run by Manchester City Council regarding the future of the Sidney Street LGBT Centre, after it was almost forcibly closed in an undemocratic and underhand way by MCC in September 2007. Saturday 23rd Feb —
* 1-3pm. Manchester Prairie Dogs Hoe-down! 5, 6, 7, 8 Manchester Prairie Dogs is the UK’s longest-running lesbian and gay line dancing group. They’ll demonstrate some very easy dances to get y’all started. Everyone welcome to dance or just watch the show. Central Library Committee Room.
* 3:30pm - MCC Manchester Trans Discussion Group meeting is in our usual venue - the Church Social Room of St John Chrysostoms Church, Anson Road, Manchester M14 5BG. (Access is from the side entrance by the bell tower on Anson Road A-34, with the room being open from 3:00pm).

* FREE Gay Times Exhibition: 35 years of landmark moments in UK Queer History. As part of the Diversity Festival 08, Chester University will be hosting cuttings and images from the vast Gay Times archive. Curated by Richard Smith, the magazine's associate editor, the exhibition documents LGBT social history from the early days of the Gay Liberation Front to the Anti-Section 28 protests in 1987, to the present day.
The Exhibition will run from Saturday 23rd February till Sunday 2nd March. The exhibition will be open to the public between 10-5 from the Saturday 23rd February till Sunday 2nd March 08. More events on: http://www.chester.ac.uk/diversityfestival/index.html

Friday 29 February — GLF Activism: as mediated through the life story of a Jewish Gay male activist
Dr Christian Klesse is a lecturer in Cultural Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University. His talk will cover the brief existence of the Jewish research group as part of the London GLF network, and examine contradictions and tensions of the heart of 1970s liberationist politics.

Saturday 1 March — LGB&T Archives Open Day
See a fascinating selection of archives relating to our city's LGBT history. Archivists will be on hand to talk about the items and the service in general.
