Sean Kirtley is a peaceful animal rights campaigner who has payed very heavily for his compassion. Sean is currently on remand awaiting sentence in Birmingham prison. After an 18 week trial at Birmingham Crown Court, he was found guilty of conspiring to `interfere with contractual relationships so as to harm an animal research organisation` (namely Sequani in Ledbury). This law forms part of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005(SOCPA), which also includes the law that restricts lawful protest near parliament.

Sean has not been aggressive or violent, neither has he harassed or intimidated anyone. He hasn`t committed criminal damage, wrote threatening letters or used illegal direct action of any kind. Perhaps more importantly in a conspiracy case, he hasn`t encouraged anyone to do any of these things. On Friday 30th May, he will be sentenced at Coventry Crown Court for doing nothing more than campaigning peacefully to stop animal testing at Sequani laboratory. For this despicable crime, he could go to prison for upto 5 years!! Remember, the judge is a game shooter - he gets pleasure from blasting birds out of the sky. No doubt he will also get pleasure from hammering someone who strongly opposes his sick, bloody `pastime`.
