Asked to be a Police Informant.

CHRIS POTTER | 13.08.2008 22:52 | SOCPA | Animal Liberation

If my memory from the AR gathering serves me correctly, and I think it does this is Tracey below, this lady copper has been on the phone asking me to "help her out". We were going to do something a bit fun, at her expense, of course, but we never did. During the period I was getting calls from this copper I was keeping other activists around the country up to date as well as getting a lot of input on how to deal with her. I would suggest unless you know what you’re doing or have a lot of experience around you, to always tell them to piss off, as the first brown nosing word that seeps out of their mouth.

Tracey.

----------------------------------

The First Call (19/6/08).

During the Kent gathering police from at least 11 forces across the country where present, the furthest anyone had travelled was a female police officer from central Scotland, see pic above.

A few days after the gathering on the 19th of June 2008, I received a call (on my personal mobile phone) at approx midday, The call was from a Scottish lady, yes that’s right, the one that was present at the gathering. She asked me if I was alone and was okay to chat, I said yes and I signalled to the few other people in the room to come closer. She then told me she wanted to travel down from Scotland to talk to me about the animal rights movement in the UK. I asked her what she wanted to know and she avoided the question saying how it was best to meet up in person. All she seemed willing to say was she was prepared to travel from Scotland to meet up, she would be bringing another officer with her and that she thought we could 'help each other' I cut the call short asking her to ring me back tomorrow as I was a little busy at the time but would consider her offer. As soon as I was off the phone I rang a few key activists to let them know she had rang and to ask them to pass the message on to other activists so everyone knew about the call.

-----------------------------------

The Second Call (20/6/08)

Around midday Tracey, the Scottish police officer rang me again, she asked if I had thought about what she had said during our previous phone call, I told her I had but still had some reserves, every time I asked she seemed to reply with, how it would be best to answer that in person, things like what’s in it for me and what did she want to ask me were answered with "if we meet up I can discuss these things with you properly" the most she said was that if we met up it would not be local and they would arrange everything. She told me another officer, I had never met before, would be coming with her from London. I told her it sounded okay and that I would need to have a bit more of a think before confirming for certain and she told me she will ring back next Thursday to arrange a meeting. The only thing I am thinking now is how to fuck her over.

------------------------------------

The Third Call (30/6/08)

Tracey rang me off her mobile (07508810540) to arrange a meeting, I have told her I am busy and that I will ring her next week to confirm a date.

------------------------------------

After this phone call I decided I had had enough of talking to the filth and have not been in touch since. They seemed desperate to talk I think they are getting very desperate.
So remember to always be aware of who is around you in your group and if anyone may of been asked and is keeping quiet. It’s time to let the cops know if they want to insult our loyalties by asking us to be informants, they must be prepared to be humiliated like our good mate Tracey.

WARNs history

14.08.2008 06:24

Maybe it's because WARN have admitted to grassing up an animal sanctuary run by Animal Rights people to the BBC. The police probably think if WARN will grass on other activists for a 5 minute news slot and a little bit of media attention then they will grass up anyone to the police for a few quid. There have been previous worries about WARN, 2 of them were released without charge despite one of them being caught red-handed helping another liberate a chicken. This happened on the first day of the Sequani trial and was used by the prosecution.

NoGrass

Divide and rule

14.08.2008 08:30

Let me make this VERY clear. A chicken was liberated from the Sun Valley abbatoir in Hereford on a spontaneous action. Both liberators were teenagers and were eventually arrested. Put yourself in Sun Valley's shoes would you really want a full blown Crown Court trial where every part of the vile slaughter process is scrutinised? Rocky ( who I have heard is very happy in his new home) was only worth 50p to scum valley. Despite the fact that the 2 arrestees were looking forward to being charged the police refused to oblige, too embarrassing to Cargill who own Sun Valley. Presumably no-one should actually bother with actions when a trial is in progress? NO defendant least of all Sean was upset by the fact a chicken was liberated or that no charges were brought, in fact there this action certainly brought a few smiles to defendants and their lawyers as police informed the court . Either paranoid delusions or a genuine desire to split the movement are behind suggestions that the 2 lads are somehow informants, exactly what the police want.

As for the "sanctuary", I am not best placed to comment but if animals are being abused (as they were) surely it is our job to expose this? If anyone genuine (ie not a police officer or animal abuser) has a problem with WARN phone up and discuss your concerns rather than posting hysterical nonsense on this site.

RE: NoGrass

At WARN we exposed a horrific sanctuary that was hording its animals, after a tip of from a concerned member of the public. At no point did the owners call them self AR and even if they had it would of made no excuse for the treatment of the animals in their care. i myself am damn proud in the part I played bringing the situation to light.

I was one of the activists arrested for the chicken thing i willl have you know. True it was used by the prosecution, but they said we had been arrested at Sequani not Sun Valley so any arrest in the West Mercia area could of been used the detail of it seem irrelevant to the prosecution, and with the frequent amount of arrests happening around that time in the area it was always going to happen. Anyway you should of seen then smile on the faces of the defendants when they heard what really happened, being the compassionate , caring people they are they would have rather gone down for a year or two than seen that chicken taken back and killed.

I was more shocked than anyone when the didn't charge me and my fellow activists, we have discussed the reasons behind it and come up with a few.
1- Lack of evidence - they had the evidence of me on site but not if me helping to steal a chicken, they therefore had to prove who stole the chicken as he/she got away and then that i had assisted in some way.
2- Enough rope to hang - cops letting us get away with a little bit so we would do more making a case strong if they decided to do to us what the had to the Sequani 12, maybe the would of done this if they hadn't done so an awful job getting only 1 guilty!
3- Sun Valley not Wanting to Prosecute - A huge company like Sun Vally willing to go through court and create media interest; over one chicken, a life that to them is worth only pennies? I don't think so. We where hoping for a charge, hoping for crown court so we could drag sun valley through the shit! but we never got it.
Please feel free to respond, that is if you are not to busy eating dough nuts!

About the animal sanctuary

14.08.2008 12:59

I don't know about the Sun Valley case so can't comment on that. I do however know alot about the animal sanctuary. There was no abuse there at all. The "activists" didn't want to help and simply wanted press atention. The "activists" did somethingsimilar to another animal sanctuary in Swindon (I don't know enough about that sanctuary to comment but it does show form). In neither case did they do anything constructive.

The sanctuary used to help local Hunt Sabs but WARN came stomping in and ruined it for everyone including the animals. WARN claimed they would do follow up action but they haven't. They just wanted media attention. Once that went so did the WARN campers. Onto the next media campaign.

The BBC hatchet job showed no animal abuse just alot of unsubstantiated rumours caused by a bitter ex-helper and attention seeking WARN. Local activists were left to pick up the pieces. It makes some of the former AR sanctuary supporters wonder whether WARN has already been infiltrated.

Surpise surprise...

14.08.2008 14:20

The video footage and numerous eye witness reports from workers past and undercover showed neglect in both cases at SDAH and Westlea, We at WARN do not give a flying fuck if they are animal rights. There were cases of animal abuse and animal hoarding the video evidence showed what it showed, members of the fund-raising board resigned over discrepancies in their charity records. These pathetic trolls can continue to discredit the work of WARN and other grass roots groups involved in our coverage area. What do WARN have to gain from smear campaigns against animal "rights" charities? We don't collect money? We are a news resource for groups in the West, get over yourselves.

Most hard working campaigners in the UK grass roots AR movement would vouch for activists like Chris Potter and every other activist involved in WARN.

Anyway, enough replying to trolls onwards!

Chris

Why? ...

15.08.2008 01:07

I'm not sure I understand this. Why did you give the police woman your phone number in the first place? Or did she get it from somewhere else? Did you speak to her face to face? She's quite pretty but I still don't understand why you'd give a copper your phone number.

I don't get it

I was asked to be an informant too.

Earlier today, mid way through a peaceful and legal demonstration, I was approached by PC1558, Martin Foster, of Hampshire Police force. This is nothing unusual to me as I have been attending demos that Martin has been on for around half a year now.

Here is a picture of Martin:  http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/7107/l478867ab1c5c1c988c77c6nf2.jpg

My friend from the demo had gone to exploit the megaphone time we were allowed at a different point on the map (the site has an injunction and you can only use the megaphone for 15 minutes from 200ft away from the building). Whilst he was gone I was left facing the building and Martin Foster. Martin approached me and firstly tried chit chatting about my girlfriend, trying to find out about my hobbies, where I am studying, where I plan to study. This is normal, he likes to know exactly who he was dealing with. This was met with a mixture of I don't knows and avoiding giving him a straight answer. Then he asked how I got involved in animal rights. he asked me who organizes SHAC demos (assuming I would know). He asked me if someone called me up and asked me to 'do over a building with them' would I do it? Of course I said no. I said I could never be involved in the ALF and that I am not a supporter of people who do (but the ALF are HEROES who actively save lives on a daily basis.. just don't tell Martin I said so).

Then the conversation turned. PC 1558 told me if I ever wanted to talk to him, I could leave him a message on the Hampshire switchboard. We could meet in person, we could talk over the phone. We could meet in a hotel, in a restaurant, over coffee, he would wear jeans and a shirt, look normal.
He told me that if I ever have any trouble, I can go to him.

He wanted me to tell him information I knew about legal people who do legal jobs in a legal organization. Well he can take a run and jump.
Just because you wear a uniform gives me no respect for you. I will never compromise my ethical values for the sake of staying out of trouble

Whispering grass?

17.08.2008 19:05

I too am very concerned about the lack of a prosecution in the stolen chicken case. Despite overwhelming evidence the police did not prosecute? There have been grumblings that there is a mole in WARN. My suspicions have been raised even further by the identification of Sean as an organiser. Where did the evidence come for this? The police case was surprisingly strong. A sure sign that a grass is involved in any court case is if they rely on a PII submission - or public immunity interest. This allows the filth to use evidence normally from a grass without it being known to others. Was such a process used in the sequani case ? Before I am marginalised as a state tool, NETCU agent, troll or other name to discredit this passage let me say I am known of these. I simply hate grasses who I consider are the scum of the earth. Look inward and examine.

Concerned.

Despite overwhelming evidence the police did not prosecute?

18.08.2008 20:44

That's because a chicken is "worth" 50 odd pence - you might as well be prosecuting chewing-gum shoplifters, surely its obvious? The company didn't want the publicity? They had already been exposed for disgusting breaches of welfare in the same week, they didn't want AR activists making more noise about the cruelty (like WARN initially did).

Just like Carmel Agrexco never prosecute, does that mean all the blockaders are grasses?

The only grumblings you've been reading are from Wank Watch, where someone wanks as hard as he can over his dreams, hoping they will come true, but they never do!

Sean was identified as the organiser because of phone calls to other activists (which the phone network revealed), which were more so than others. He was considered the "hub", because he did more than others, nothing to do with activists grassing...please do YOUR research and read deeper (NETCU Watch etc). They all organised, Sean just 'seemed' to help out most.

The police case was surprisingly strong? A sure sign that a cop wrote this...as the case was so weak they couldn't decide the fate on the remaining Sequani activists!

Smells like? When the BNP were trolling anti-fascist threads... only its the cops worrying over the carnival so they are trying to discredit the regional group.

We heard you whining to the Ledbury Reporter - you can't hide it!

not an idiot

Get yerr facts right!

18.08.2008 21:27

As the other activist arrested in the Sun Valley case, the reason they didn't prosecute (with the exception of DC Perky Perkins' crap interview techniques!) was because the Cargill-owned company are one of the, if not the, biggest in the country for slaughtering and supplying chicken, they didn't want their name (and the industry's reputation) dragged through the mud for the fourth time in around a month and the idea of what may come out in a potential court case ie H&S records, animal welfare inspection records etc. Furthermore, Perky Perkins in interview described the matter as equivellant to "petty shoplifting" and with the West Mercia budget being so stretched with AR prosecution(s) (over £2 million spent on the Sequani trial) it wouldn't exactly have the public screaming "get them!"

I think this is the end of any speculations about the case and time to draw the final straw and say "there were no grasses involved!"

Look into things properly before making stupid comments
