The OFT havs recently been in the news, that they introduced ryanair to the new EU legislation to internet transparency, but have not mentioned anything regarding stopping ryanair from extra credit card charging.

Face it, you can't win. This is capitalism. They need to make a profit so if they can't do it here, they will just add on the same amount somewhere else.
They just want the headline price to be as low as possible for marketing reasons. When they add all the "extras" on top it's just as much as anywhere else. But by that time, you're hooked.
