EDL taking to the streets? Youtube video of a mass of white men yelling 'England, England' whilst chasing 'looters/rioters'. Police running along with them?

The EDL has started to call for it's members to take to the streets in what is a worrying development.

I really don't believe the EDL are apart of the 'clean-up' in the way they are portraying it.

There have also been rumours of mosques being burnt down.

Please pass this around, it aint confirmed but if it is true we really need to consider what to do to protect.

Reports are filtering through that certain elements are framing some of these events as black vs aisian. IMO it would not surprise me if the 3 lads mow downed and the burning of the mosques in Leeds were down to the EDL or even more 'official' bastions of racism. People need to really challenge this view from spreading else we end up with a lot of blood on the streets.

A fair few of the muppet "masterace" have been nicked tonight in and around london which is a national blessing in itself. Meanwhile all colors and creeds reported marching to the scene in birmingham where three asian lads were murdered last night. There's a recent vid going round with edl attacking a double decker bus because it had black people on it

I think Indymedia should not be allowing any publication of any article in which the EDL are mentioned, either in promotion of the group or apparent criticism. The EDL are clearly a nationalist group and the political credo they follow is nationalist in origin. There is a discussion on Youtube about the sociological genetics of the difference between whites and blacks. Its bad enough that the US Corporation that owns YouTube should be allowing this in the UK but its utterly unforgiveable that Indymedia would allow themselves to echo it.

I like Indymedia, consider it a vital voice and have used it for years but this tolerance for ultra-nationalism is going to have to stop. It would be a real shame if Indymedia were to suddenly fall foul of the shifting sands of public opinion in an area in which it is expected to be ahead of the game.
