Money and Politics

Seb | 11.12.2011 18:36 | Globalisation | Workers' Movements | World

What can be done about it?

I would like to see a system whereby everybody is able to work up what they can without the use of computers to do business. Instead, we return to strictly monetary trade, along with trading our skills to produce income through salaries. There should be no more 'banking' or 'financing'. The salaries are provided by a new form of business individual, who has skills and property at his or her disposal, and is able to found careers for others. These business individuals must be well respected in their fields, and their activities are to include management of workforce and planning of strategy. The system of cooperation that underlies 'banking' and 'stockmarket gambling/speculation' must be destroyed. Instead, the individual must become his or her own bank.

The money supply is to be based on the international gold standard. Any money not in use will remain in the offices of a dominant military State, or a single world power, with the ability to settle major regional disputes. This State will also have a government, with a leadership of various experts/business individuals, who have joined through vote. I do not believe that political parties are the favourably outcome of a democratic system, I am much more a believer of technocracy, and the ability of experts and scientists, as well as businessmen, to hold representation in such a government. A one-party system is entirely possible, provided that it is flexible at the roots as a free market economy and with a healthy system of electing individuals to government, with this government ultimately forming a cabinet that is able to form decisions which will support and protect the rights of the entire planet. This 'focusing' of power to a single political party with internal codes of conduct will help stabilise the planet, as as individual truly looking to 'protect' the people of the planet from harm will no doubt join this force, whilst on the other hand the majority that constitutes the population of the world could easily unite to destroy any corrupt government, eventually reforming it into a new single party with fresh ideals.

Furthermore, I believe that immigration should be controlled although humanitarian efforts should be granted far greater resource and voice. For example, the World Bank and Red Cross should be given seats in any world government. Ultimately labour should fall first with the domestic worker, and that a minimal social welfare fund is acceptable, although the amount of salary earned via even the most simple of jobs should be relatively increased to remove any notions of apathy via not working. Diversity and social understanding is to become the priority of a world government, as is environmental protection.

Any voting system could be based on a majority system, whereby the majority of the WORLD must be in favour of any individual moving into government. This reflects a very finely tuned communications system, based on systems such as telephones, television and the internet, all of which are slowly grinding together into a single unit.

I hope for the best!
