National Miscarriage of Justice Day Public Meeting

UAI, the national federation of organisations campaigning against miscarriages of justice, is holding its 13th annual public meeting and workshops in the John Foster Building. This excellent venue has been generously provided by the Liverpool John Moores University. All workshops and meetings are free and open to everyone opposed to miscarriages of justice.

The 13th National Miscarriage of Justice Day returns to it’s roots in Liverpool.

Saturday 11th October 2014

Liverpool John Moores University have kindly agreed to host the event in their John Foster Building.

All workshops and meetings are free and open to everyone opposed to miscarriages of justice. Donations to UAI welcome, to help cover costs. The following details will be updated as further confirmations become available, so please check back frequently and help raise awareness of the event in any way you can. A printable flyer will be available shortly when details are finalised.

A 1 hour related documentary will be shown while we break for teas, coffees, snacks and cakes.

14:00 Speakers confirmed so far include :-

Speakers include :-
Carol Toal, speaking about her son, Sean, who was wrongly convicted of murder.
Innocence Projects, a current student speaking about the future of innocence projects now that INUK has stopped operating.
Ross Patel, director of Afentis Forensics, computer and cell site analysis.
CCRC, a representative speaks on the CCRC’s role and how best to present your case to them.
Afternoon break
Ashleigh Towers, speaking about her brother Jordan, who was wrongly convicted of murder under Joint Enterprise.
Professor Joe Sim, of LJMU. His main teaching areas are the history of prisons and punishment, contemporary penal systems and criminological theory.
INQUEST, who’s representative will speak of their work and how to gain support for your cause from official bodies.
Daniel MacArthur, who lost loved ones at Hillsborough, speaks on the importance of campaigns and the importance of standing together no matter how long it takes.
