To raise awareness of the present situation in Fallujah, members of York Against the War organised a demonstration in Parliament Street on Monday evening, to coincide with the coalition forces' long-planned assault on the city.

The protest was one of many across the country.
"We want to bring home to people the loss and devastation inflicted upon innocent civilians. I believe this course of action will increase the sense of injustice felt by Iraqis, and harden resistance rather than quell it".
