Does CrossRail hole plot-backer UK minister Bassam have the honesty?

AADHIKARonline with Khoodeelaar! No to 'Crossrail hole Bill' UK | 09.01.2008 14:25 | Globalisation | Social Struggles | London | World

On Monday 7 January 2008, a transport minister in the 'house of lords' in London spoke by recognizing the role inn the UK of European convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. He refrained from using the full title of the conventions. But his words in fact referred to the constitutional framework that exists in practice under the UK's treaty obligations [dating back to 1950]. So does the minister himself practise his apparent affiliation to the conventions? Not really, if the evidence of his behaviour in promoting the crossrail hole plots is anything to go by.

The minister, ‘lord Bassam of Brighton’ will get an opportunity this year to show that he is not another liar in public office doing the propaganda for the big business CRASSRail hole plot.

Khoodeelaar! is this week asking the minister [‘lord Bassam of Brighton’] to show evidence justifying his involvement in making several hundred £million public money available to unaccountable, secretive elements under covers of promoting the crossrail hole plot. Khoodeelaar! Is also asking the minister [‘lord Bassam of Brighton’] to show why he has supported the denial of convention rights to objectors against the crossrail scam.

Khoodeelaar! is asking the House of Lords to refuse to approve the crossrail bill as it is backed by anti-constitutional elements like ‘lord Bassam of Brighton’

Khoodeelaar! Objections to Crossrail Bill - as so far addressed to the House of Lords, Weds 09.01.2008

1. The Secretary of State for Transport misled parliament when he stated at ‘first reading’ held in the HOUSE OF COMMONS [22 February 2005] that he was satisfied that the contents of the ‘Crossrail Bill’ were compatible with the [ECHR=EUROPEAN] Conventions.
2. Either the Secretary of State for Transport made that statement deliberately and knowing it to be false and untrue because he did not care about the UK’s Treaty obligations or that he made that statement in ignorance.
3. When the real reason for his statement on compatibility was either – or even if both reasons applied on the facts - the Secretary of State for Transport could not continue to pretend ignorance especially after we [the Khoodeelaar! Campaign] pointed out to him that his statement was unconstitutional and that he must show how, in view of his assertions, the contents of the CrossRail Bill were compatible with the Conventions.
4. The Secretary of State for Transport then made his position even more unconstitutional by moving at Second Reading [19 July 2005] that the ‘Select Committee’ that was being set up in the House of Commons, be barred from looking at the purpose and the details of the Crossrai Bill.
5. The Secretary of State for Transport therefore VIOLATED other Conventions in addition to the ones that he had already violated at the time of his ‘certifying ‘ [at First Reading 22: February 2005] that the ‘CrossRail Bill’ had been compatible with the ‘Conventions’. He did that – and formally the House of Commons did that at Second Reading– by contradicting themselves at all crucial stages and on all crucial aspects of the ‘CrossRail Bill’, and on its implications and consequences.

Times City Diary predicts problems for Crossrail-hyped 'board'

10.01.2008 13:08

Published under the headline “Something doesn’t add up at HMRC “

[containing several items. `only this one was about Crossrai]

City Diary: Martin Waller

Crossrail, which might, fingers crossed, be about to be built, is seeking four independent non-executive directors. The job isn’t exactly a bed of roses, applicants note. The Transport Department and Ken Livingstone retain the right to add their own nonexecutives to the already exciting mix. It is a huge project, which will certainly come in late and overbudget, for which you will be blamed. Applicants should “have the independence of mind to offer constructive challenge to the executive”, so expect plenty of boardroom rows.

Khoodeelaar! first response

I have posted a first response to the Times newspaper City Diary report about a number of stooges that the Crossrai hole plotters are setting out to appoint to create a propaganda display saying that there was ‘Crossrail bard’ !!The Times pieces does not say as much. I am saying this here. The response that I have posted for publication by the Times may not appear there.

I print the item below the introductory below:
Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Bill CAMPAIGN asks UK Parliament to comply with the constitutional obligations.. ..as Khoodeelaar! tells the London Times newspaper group to report the failures of the UK Transport minister to allow full examination of the contents and the implications of Crossrail ..
“Referring to Crossrail.

Mr Waller has got some of it right about the CRASS rail project. It is curious that he is almost wishing Crossrail in its presently planned form to be constructed. That is a departure from what he wrote in September 2007.

It must for the records be pointed out whenever the CrossRail hole scam is mentioned, that neither House of the UK Parliament is being [or has been so far] allowed to hear the arguments or see the available evidence against the scheme.

This is why the Khoodeelaar! campaign against the Crossrai hole Bill is making constitutional law representations this month seeking to have ALL known evidence against Crossrail to be allowed to be presented before and constitutionally fully examined by the UK House of Lords 'committee' on the 'Crossrail Bill'.

We are arguing that denial of these is contrary to the UK’s constitutional obligations under the ECHR. Lest it be said that the ECHR Conventions [referred to as ‘the Convention’] is not central to the domestic UK legislative process, the main promoter of the Crossrail Bill in the House of Commons had to state whether he [Alistair Darling 22 February 2005] was satisfied that the contents of the Bill were compatible with the ‘Conventions’. He [or Ruth Kelly now, as the occupant of the post as the Secretary of State that Alistair Darling held on 22 February 2005] cannot have it both ways.

Either they recognise the substantial constitutional place in the UK that the ‘Contention’ has, or they don’t.

If they do recognise the ‘Convention’ [which is what Darling’s statement of 22 February 2005 shows that they ‘do’ ] then they must do so all the way and stop violating the Convention whenever it suits their unaccountable agenda setters who remain unconstitutionally and undemocratically influential via extra parliamentary agencies and lobbyists. The Crossrail Bill does NOT contain the goodies that its pluggers keep parading, like ‘Lord Bassam of Brighton’ has again done in the Upper Chamber.

The UK Public are entitled to know the truth about the £Billions of public money that is being claimed for the project by its unaccountable agents and promoters. This is the least that is demanded under the democratizing provision that is available in the UK’s treaty obligations relating to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms [=ECHR]”
