Scientology coming to a shopping centre near you: West Bromwich

Operation Happy Shopper | 15.03.2008 21:03 | Health | Repression | Birmingham

The 'Citizens Commission on Human Rights', a front group for the Scientology cult is scheduled to show an exhibition in the Queens Square Shopping Centre West Bromwich. The exhibition is called 'Psychiatry - An Industry Of Death' and is due to run from Monday 31st March until Thursday 17th April 2008 -  http://www.cchr.org.uk/exhibitions.htm

Whilst the name 'Citizens Commission on Human Rights' (CCHR) certainly makes it sound like they are a alturistic group looking to help people, the truth is somewhat different.

The group have absolutely no interest in stopping the many human rights abuses around the world, they are an ofshoot of the 'Church' of Scientology -  http://www.cchr.org.uk/about.htm and their only agenda is promoting the 'Church' of Scientology's extreme views on psychiatric care and psychiatric medicines.

The CCHR & Church of Scientology's views on Psychiatric care and psychiatric medicine are well documented and include the belief that psychiatry is responsible for Eugenics and the Holocaust.

See the following image of the Scientology exhibition 'Psychiatry - An Industry Of Death' in Los Angeles -

from the page  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychiatry:_An_Industry_of_Death

This bizarre and offensive belief was also shown in BBC Panorama: Scientology and me, broadcast in 2007.

If you find Scientology's hijacking of the Nazi Holocaust to be tasteless and offensive then you should write to the Public Relations Company of the Queens Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich and ask them to reconsider their decision to allow this exhibition to take place.

Tragic teenager is found hanged - Ritalin

16.03.2008 00:39

Ritalin is bad news. This teenager was given Ritalin by the National drug pushers (what passes as the National 'health service'). His dosage was increased in the service of the drug industry/profiteers, and he committed suicide. Stop the ABUSE of children in the name of 'mental health'! I am assuming that this was the work of the national health service and not some private outfit (although not sure if there is much difference nowadays).

What is tragic is NOT the teenager but the PATHETIC sick 'health service' that we are paying for with our taxes.
ADHD my arse!

Anti-psychiatry

16.03.2008 09:21

Partly a response to Brian B above:

Psychiatry is not above criticism. Some of the issues the CCHR highlights are, indeed, valid - the dangerous side-effects of psychiatric medication and its over-prescription, for example. The anti-psychiatry movement covers a diverse range of views, and incorporates a number of legitimate concerns.

However, the Church of Scientology's opposition to psychiatry is based on the "psychs" being agents of Xenu and instigators of genocide 75 million years ago (OT3) who are planning world domination (Ron's Journal 67) and decided en route to kick off the holocaust for shits and giggles (Psychiatry: An Industry of Death).

I feel this undermines their position somewhat.

Recent e-mails leaked from the CCHR ( http://rapidshare.com/files/99292051/CCHRLeak3.pdf.html and  http://rapidshare.com/files/97605681/cchr-mails.zip.html) indicate the underhanded way in which the cult pursues its anti-psychiatry agenda. Their aim is not to protect human rights, but to pursue the deluded fantasy of a drug-addled fascist.

The Church of Scientology claiming to protect human rights is equivalent to NAMBLA setting up a children's home.

The so called Church of Scientology are against psychiatry and psychology. Having been a victim of psychoactive pharmaceuticals myself (namely Seroxat) I feel strongly against the fact that anti-depressants are handed out like sweets to every depressed child/teenager/adult when all they really need is someone to listen to them, i.e. counselling. However, super-rich pharmaceutical corporations have far more lobbying and political power than therapists which is why these services are scare on the NHS, even when a recent study has declared that Prozac is "a completely ineffective drug to all but the most severely depressed people".

However, the brimming crock of shit that the church of $cientolology advocates as an alternative really does rival the money-grabbing, clinical trial hiding, child killing corporations responsible for the suicides of hundreds of people, mostly adolescents, here is their "therapy":-

"Dianetics"

18.03.2008 15:55

Proselytisers for the 'Church' of Scientology are handing out A4/tabloid sized flyers in busy parts of London targeting people who feel 'stress from work', & promising 'increased confidence'; the answer to the question of stress is called "Dianetics" in their text.
