Pebble Mill Social Centre evicted

Birmingham Social Centre | 14.07.2012 13:09 | Free Spaces | Birmingham

Yesterday morning High Court Bailiffs came without warning, broke in and closed us down. We managed to get most of our stuff out (we’re getting pretty good at last minute evacuations  https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/birmingham/2012/07/497606.html) but unfortunately this was the same day as the Spanish miners benefit gig. However we were able to quickly squat a temporary venue for the event which went ahead without any problems and raised over £200 for the miners.

Pebble Mill investments paid unknown sums of money to to get a high court hearing to evict the Pebble Mill Social Centre, which is part of a plot of land that has remained empty and unsold for eight years.

Watch this space for an announcement of the imminent return of the Birmingham Social Centre in a new space.
