13-02-2005 22:26

The Newcastle-based Projectile collective has brought together a nice pack of films that will hound your consciousness and tickle your tail. The festival featured films ranging from serious documentaries such as An Injury To One to tragic-comedy The Cockettes. Most of the film showings on the Saturday and Sunday had seats full if not people sitting in the aisles.

4 Homes Blunkett

28-01-2005 13:42

After my piece 'Shed No Tears For Blunkett' was published on Sheffield Indymedia, one of Blunkett's cronies, who happens to be the councillor for Blunkett's Sheffield Brightside constituency, came (alone) to his defence. This went along the lines of 'You're all middle-class, not like me and my good working-class pal David', and part of this ludicrous argument was the supposed low-cost of the houses they both own in Sheffield. What Blunkett's pal forgets to mention is that Blunkett doesn't just have 1 home, but 4! And either Peter Price has been playing down the value of Blunkett's Sheffield house - or Blunkett has been on the fiddle again!

Kings Lynn The Walks - Heritage Lottery Project

24-07-2004 19:10

Critique of proposed bid for Heritage Lottery Funding to restore the Walks. The proposals envisage the removal of a total of 244 mature trees now with others to follow in 15 years. There is little sign, despite assurances from Heritage Lottery Fund that the proposals will take account of environmental/ecological/bio-diversity issues. The message once again is clear. Trees are the price of heritage lottery cash.
