Things in Nablus have got a little crazy over the last week or so. The army re-invaded the Old City, imposing curfew making house to house/shop to shop searches, blowing off doors willy nilly, occupying homes and making the families stay in one or two rooms, trashing homes, wrecking produce and livlihoods.

Saturday the 17th August, 2003 – Balata Refugee Camp, Nablus.
The IOF arrive at the home of the Abu Salem family with the intention of demolition. An act of collective punishment for the actions of his son who is a martyr. There are five activists from the International Solidarity Movement staying in the home in response to a very real threat of demolition, due to the IOF carrying out three home demolitions in the Nablus in the previous four days.

Early this morning IOF soldiers made inqursions into Askar Refugee Camp, Nablus with the aim of arresting/assasinating leading HAMAS members. This IOF action resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians and the destuction of a four storey building.
