UG#529 - Unite and Conquer 1 (The Realisation of Unity)

Robin Upton, 11-12-2010 23:27

Audio
This week we question the reductionist science of the discrete and separate self. Our opening talk, by Paul Bloom, looks at research into the human moral sense, and presents findings which suggests that children even only a few months old are possessed of some kind of moral sense. We follow this up with a heartfelt talk from peace activist Brian Willson, on the need for US culture to break out of its self-imposed box and relate healthily with the world at large. Our major talk, by evolutionary biologist and gift economy activist, Elisabet Sahtouris, is a wide ranging one. She directly challenges reductionist models of evolution, preferring a holistic view, concluding that humanity is undergoing a change akin to the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Ghana and Afrika trapped by IMF/World Bank

Kwame Osei, 27-01-2010 14:55

Contrary to what is written in the Westn racist press about corrupt Afrikan politicians "mis-managing" their countries, it is rather the draconian and vile policies of the Western owned IMF/World Bank that IS responsible for Afrika's woes by imposing bad policies like SAP's HIPC that have crippled Afrikan economies and made them the basket case of the world. University research findings called into question over Tesco funding

MULE, 15-12-2009 14:44

Research undertaken at the University of Manchester has concluded that loyalty bonuses are a more effective way of motivating customers to re-use plastic bags than to charge for them. However, the independence of this research has been thrown into doubt, raising questions over the £25 million donation received from Tesco by the Sustainable Consumption Institute. Emilio José Lemos de Lima, 28-10-2009 19:03

Requião
Just like in the beginning. With the same passion and the same radicality of campaign "The oil is ours". If, in the 1950's, when our daily production was 2,300 barrels, the whole country has mobilized in favor of retaining the oil wealth to Brazilians, what to say about today, when, in only four fields, it is estimated that the reserves of pre-salt layer will produce 16 billion barrels?

Lula rethinks his succession

Emilio José Lemos de Lima, 09-10-2009 18:26

Lula and Requião
All those individuals and companies that today invest in government securities, taking advantage of high interest rates set by COPOM, can redirect their resources to also profitable and secure financing of the myriad of infrastructure works that the country has demanded for decades, as those international companies engaged in oil exploration can continue to do so, under a new set of laws that guarantee the interests of Brazilian population and the preponderance of a Petrobras with less shares at the New York Stock Exchange and more shares under direct control of the Brazilian national state.
