Bicycology biketour pedals onwards : Nottingham Pix

Bicycology is a biketour travelling from London to Lancaster (via Nottingham).

Form Lancaster it will be heading to the Climate Action Camp. It visited Nottingham on Saturday 19th August. On their tour, the Bicycologists gave free bike maintainence workshops, holding Dr Bike sessions - organising bike games and playing around with some crazy tall wobbly bikes; there will also be information and examples of alternative forms of energy, including some pedal-powered gadgets.

They let me ride the 'very' tall bike about, and I have to say it's a whole different perspective up there ....... :-)

Bicycology is a collective formed by riders who wanted to build on their shared experience of the 2005 G8 Bike Ride and organise future events of a similar nature. By focusing on cycling we aim to persue our vision of a just and sustainable world through a combination of education, entertainment and creative direct action. The collective was formed during a weekend meeting at the Sumac Centre, here in Nottingham, in November 2005 with 15 original members.

Funky Specs, for the discerning cyclist .......

23.08.2006 01:15

On the bicycology site, they say:
"Summers here and we all need some shades to protect our eyes from that blazing British sun, and what better way than to make your own pair of bicycology specs?

Simply click  http://www.bicycology.org.uk/bikeart.htm

to open and print your very own shades.

*****

So i did. I was so impressed with these funky specs, that I made some and thought I'd model them for you .... :-)
