Solutions to Climate Change ?

29.04.2007 09:49

Why are you doing the work of the oil industry for them ?

Peak Oil, Man made global warming, rising sea levels the latest in a long line of scare stories created by oil company front organisations and eagerly swallowed by gullible activists all over the developed world.

Ask yourself important questions before doing this. For example

A) If we are approaching Peak Oil why does the USA alone still have nearly 300 years of oil reserves on its mainland which it refuses to allow to be released ? (clue neither Boeing or Airbus have any teams investigating alternative fuels for aircraft)

B) Why is the UK still refusing BP to drill for the oil and gas which is below the Falkland Islands 25 years after the war there ?

C) If global tempretures are rising why is Northern Europe colder now than it was during the Roman invasion of the area ? (clue: the Roman Governor of Britain grew vines for wine on his Northumberland estate)

D) If sea levels are rising why is the sea around Australia and New Zealand falling ?

E) If ice shelves are supposidly melting why do the most recent figures from the Antartic Survey Team (2006) show the majority about the same as they have been for 400 years ?

F) Why does not a single recognised independent Geologist support the mankind influenced climate change theories ?

The oil companies and their PR companies invented all of the above and their tame scientists gave it credibility, now Western governments are jumping on the bandwagon. Big Oil and Governments support it because it allows them to increase profits and taxes and control economic development in the Third World. Fools like Greepeace fell for it because it's what they wanted to hear.

Read, Check, Discuss. Don't swallow what you have heard. It's the biggest lie in the world at the moment.

Friend of big Oil
can you post the references and sources to your comments as to not do so makes them appear highly dubious....

I hate to disagree because it leads into a PFJ/JPF argument but

A) Peak oil represents a peak in the amount of oil being found and removed from the ground. Just because the oil companies are putting oil into storage does not mean that the peak is not being reached. Moreover no-one suggests that we have gone past the peak, we are coming up to it. When the growth rate of china is factor in storage amounts seem woefully inadequate.

B) Because of the fear that it will enrage the local British population and create a bad message about the reasons britain is in the falklands. its a politically sensitive area.

C) If global tempretures are rising why is Northern Europe colder now than it was during the Roman invasion of the area ? Because climate changes slowly over long periods of time. it slumped in the mid 2nd millenium and rose with the advent of the industrial revolution. global temperatures are rising more rapidly now than they have ever done outside of a mass extinction period.

D) I find this a highly dubious concept. you are mistaking high levels of volcanic activity underneath new zealand that force new lands upwards, for the sea falling. in somerset, norfolk, holland, and bangladesh, more land is being reclaimed by the sea.

E) If ice shelves are supposidly melting why do the most recent figures from the Antartic Survey Team (2006) show the majority about the same as they have been for 400 years ? Because ice shelves are vast. The majority of ice shelves remain stable throughout climate changes. It is the area around the edges, the small percent that changes and causes sea levels to rise, and it is that small percent we must worry about.

F) It is not the place of geologists to study the atmosphere and global warming. Geologists main source of employment is oil companies. This actually suggests against your theory.

Why on earth would anyone want to hear that their planet is becoming unliveable?

While i salute your open mindedness on the issue, i find your comments misguided and worrying to say the least. Regardless, an ethically sound lifestyle that minimises our impact what we put into the air and the earth cannot be anything other than beneficial.
