++More trams,wind genies,earthships a must in flooding

26.07.2007 17:49

Derek Clowes works for Rushcliffe where plans are in for an array of turbines on an arch rather like Wembley Stadium. The plans on the link below are for a single turbine as part of the Ozone project in the Meadows. As I recall, there were 2 plans, A and B for turbines. Plan A is the single turbine, which is the one referred to in your link below and would be on Victoria Embankment close to the football pitches and Wilford Grove and plan B is the turbine array which will be on the Wilford side of the Trent, opposite the Meadows and close to Emmanuel School. This is the one submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council (D CLowes). The single turbine would be under the jurisdiction of Nottingham City Council and their planning department. The border between Nottingham City as a unitary authority and Rushcliffe (as a borough part of Nottinghamshire is the river itself. Its all a bit confusing but I am thinking that probably both applications have gone in in the hope that one will be successful but both still need our support. I don’t think it will be decided at the meeting in Clifton though – it will take longer than that.
