Culminating in a Play Parade -Thursday 19th feb, meet 12pm, Independant Street Park parading to Radford Primary School.
These events are aimed at increasing community involvement in advocating children’s play in Nottingham through promoting the need for greater access to appropriate, freely chosen and self directed play opportunities.
See article ‘generation of play deprivation’ BBC 2007.
This means that many children now lack the time, space and encouragements at home and school to create their own ‘child-powered’ fun. The Play Parade is a chance for children and families to speak out about access to safe places to play and children’s right to this.
In preparation there will be:
Creative workshops 11-3, Radford Primary School.
Tuesday 17th – Scrap instrument making/costumes/masks/sculpture
Wednesday 18th – Banner making/costumes/masks/sculpture
Free & Open to all, but please book an advance. Call Alice at Playworks 0115 958 9199
