Celebration At The Great British Circus

Dave B (Nottingham Animal Rights) | 24.04.2010 00:26 | Animal Liberation

Following news that wild animals are to be banned from circuses
 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8588332.stm
It is looking almost certain that the Great British Circus (and others) will not survive to return to tour next year.

Nottingham Animal Rights Feels that This Deserves A Celebratory Demo

The Great British Circus has been caught on countless occasions abusing and neglecting their animals including just recently when footage was released of staff beating elephants.

Optimistically many feel that without 'Wild' animals the Few remaining animal circuses in the country will be unable to pull in customers and will have to stop using animals or close.

Nottingham Animal rights will be marking the end of what is hopefully our final circus protest with champagne and a huge chocolate cake with an important message iced on-top.

Join Us at 2pm this Sunday to celebrate the much overdue ban at
The Japanise Water Gardens
251 Toton Lane
Stapleford, Nottingham NG9 7JA

GBC Are A Joke

24.04.2010 02:06

Hardly anywhere will put up their posters anymore, so they're paying shops to display them! Plus trying to persuade business owners to keep them up by giving away free tickets.

Plus, have you seen the cheap ass prices on the discount tickets?

It all adds up, or not in the case of GBC who are rapidly losing money.

Fantastic!

24.04.2010 07:45

This is brilliant news.

GBC had been putting up lots of ragged adverts on the main roads near me but they mysteriously kept getting taken down.

Lets hope these jokers are out of the picture.

Keep track of the 'great' british circus, and others

28.04.2010 18:23

the 'great' british circus has faced protest everywhere it has been so far this year, from its opening night at Lincoln. through Skegness and Grimsby, to Nottingham (8 demos) and now in Leicester.

They continue until May 9th at Leicester Road, Glen Parva, Leicester, LE29TG ( http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=277)

From May 11 - 23 they are at Marston, opposite Leamarston Leisure Centre, Kingsbury, Sutton Coldfield, B76 0DP

Please arrange your own protests. Take care as a circus worker assaulted a protester in Nottingham, but don't let them get away with it.

Keep track of the 'great' british circus, and others, at  http://www.veggies.org.uk/event.php?ref=331#gbc

Email  arc@veggies.org.uk to provide details of animal circus tour dates, venues, proposed demos or press reports.

Copy details to CAPS at  info@captiveanimals.org, from whom you can order leaflets and posters for demos or for distribution on stalls, or for local shop keepers to display in place of circus publicity. Captive Animals' Protection Society (CAPS): 0845 330 3911 /  http://www.captiveanimals.org
