Police charge cyclists at Glasgow Critical Mass

Last night the police committed a surprising u-turn in their approach to dealing with Glasgow Critical Mass. The Mass has previously been accompanied by cycle officers "to ensure the safety of the cyclists" however there has been no police presence since last September. This changed dramatically with the April Critical Mass;

Next national climate camp organising gathering Feb 17/18 in Leeds

Climate Camp 2007 will take place from August 14th to 21st. Planning is already well under way and we need everyone to get involved and make it happen.
The next national organising gathering will be in Leeds on Sat and Sun Feb 17th/18th. It will be at The Common Place in Leeds city centre and vegan food, accommodation and creche will be provided (please contact us with accommodation, creche or any other needs though so we can plan ahead).

Environment minister pied as he tried to GreenWash the governments destructive e

On 2 Febuary at around 3pm, a group of people under the guise of fictional company 'Greenwash & Co', did a satirical performance at a talk being given by the current UK minister for the environment, David Miliband, at Edinburgh University. The minister was then pied in the face by a lone pie-bearer in an unrelated incident.

NATIONAL GRID ENDANGER LIFE OF PROTESTOR

RESISTANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!1 National Grid blatantly abused health and safety regulations yet again today when a peaceful protester d-clamped himself to a crane at their construction site at Alltwen in the Swansea valley. Despite calls from onlookers that he was clamped by his neck, national grid / nacap staff started up the crane and proceeded to move it with the protester attached who was approx 45 feet up in the air...................

Aberdeen Campaign against Climate Change demonstrate against airport expansion

Demonstrators outside Aberdeen Town House On December 13th 2006 Aberdeen Campaign Against Climate Change held a demonstration outside the Town House in Aberdeen where councillors were considering the planning application for an extension to the runway of Aberdeen Airport. Twenty people took part in the protest. Disappointingly, the application was approved by a large majority.

Aberdeen Campaign Against Climate Change organised two aviation protests this week: One protest was against BAA's application to extend the runway in Aberdeen. The second protest, on Saturday, was against short-haul flights, which account for the large majority of flights to and from Aberdeen.

Feminism and Climate Change

The Feminism and Climate Change workshop acted as a forum for some really positive discussion. There was a good mix of ages and opinions, with valuable input by the men who attended. We discussed everything from climate change to the education system, science fiction and reproductive health. For a lot of people there, the links between feminism and climate change were new so it ended up being educational for all.
