The 17th of April is the annual remembrance day when Palestinians honour their political prisoners held inside Israeli gaols.
Palestinian trade union organiser M, returns to the prison where he was held periodically from the age of 13 until the age of 25 for participating in student protests against the Israeli occupation of the West bank during the 1980's.

In this report he takes Penelope Constantinople on a tour of the rehabilitated AlFarah Prison now operating as a residential youth centre in the northern West bank.

In the report M describes being tortured for long periods during his detentions at Al Farah prison.

Over the years Mayday has been a time to celebrate ordinary people's struggle against global capitalism. The growing anti-militarist movement is a part of that struggle. On May 4th people from across the UK and beyond will come to Brighton in a show of force against EDO MBM/ITT, who profit from the suffering of ordinary people in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

EDO MBM/ITT do not operate in a vacuum. The weapons they manufacture couldn't be produced without the support of other corporations; investors, business partners and companies providing services to them. This map plots the network of companies complicit in ITT's crimes in Brighton.

On the 16th of January 6 people broke into an arms factory to try and prevent the supply of weapons being used for war crimes in Palestine. Two of the six are still in Prison, one of them is in Horfield, Bristol.

In the night of 29 March 2009, the prison probation service building of Brighton was attacked with paintbombs and spraypaint signs "No War" & "EDO 2". The HSBC bank next door was also smashed windows.

Solidarity picket of Bristol prison – Saturday 21 March at 3pm
This event is an act of solidarity with all the EDO Decommissioners awaiting trial, but especially the 2 defendants remanded in prison since January 17 2009. Of these 2, one Robert Alford remains in HMP Lewes in Brighton, whilst the other Elija (James) Smith), is now held at HMP Bristol.

The invasion of Iraq began on the night of 19th/20th March 2003. Since then over a million people have died as a result of the invasion and occupation. In a shocking discovery reports have emerged from simply Google Earth images evidence of three drones parked on an airfield in some remote destination within Baluchistan, the images were captured by orbiting satellites and archived within Google Earth data warehouse to suddenly be discovered recently. Though there is no denying that during the Musharraf regime bases were rented out to the American army costing them a massive deficit to the tune of $10 Billion. But what probably irks the nation is that the Pakistani government have categorically denied that the Pakistani bases are being used to launch drones-

Noel is part of a group of workers who are keeping the Waterford Crystal flame burning.

He is among a dozen who make sure that 18 tonnes of molten glass continue to be produced by the plant’s furnace every 24 hours.

The furnace must stay working for production at the factory to continue.

If the furnace stops, the glass will solidify and the repairs would cost 8 million euros.

I was very sorry to hear Brighton Council failed to shut down EDO on this occassion. Just how many jobs does this sick company provide?
After the second world war many arms factories changed there use.
However, I would argue there is NO EXCUSE for crimes against humanity.
