G8: Live8 Concerts to Mobilise 1 million for Edinburgh July 6th Demo!

Following intense media speculation the plan around the Make Poverty History alligned Live Aid concerts is currently being revealed.

The concerts on July 2nd will be used to encourage hundreds of thousands of people to then make the journey up to Scotland for the start of the G8 Summit on Wednesday 6th July.

I am finding myself increasingly increduluous at the news reports being published around the Make Poverty History campaign and in particular the "Live8" re-runs of Live Aid being championed by Bob Geldof.

CIRCA in Time Out

Their next stop is London (this weekend) then Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester and Newcastle before heading up to Scotish cities, Aberdeen, Glasgow and finally Edinburgh.

The captain of Inter Milan football club says he would be willing to take up an invitation for the club to play a team of Mexican Zapatista rebels.

The Italian club have received a letter from the indigenous movement, based in the southern state of Chiapas.

Edinburgh Beltane Fire Festival Pictures

Pictures from the Beltane Fire Festival on the night of 30th April at Calton Hill in Edinburgh. Around 8000 people payed £3-5 to watch the show celebrating Beltane and party on the hill. Following the end of the ceremony / show, most people happily left the hill to move onto other locations for more mayday revellry.

radical folksingers from U.S. looking for places to play!

Evan Greer, Ryan Harvey, and Mark Gunnery three anarchist folk/punk artists well known in the United States, and members of the newly formed Riot-Folk! Records Collective are planning to come to the UK for a short tour before the G8 Protests in July. They are looking for contacts and venues to play, be they squats, infoshops, bars, houses, streets, or at riots.
