Pain doubles at HLS, animal use drops 34%

HLS experiments on dogs Win Animal Rights (WAR) released the text of a press release published on September 8, 2009, by watchdog group SAEN. The press release was about USDA inspection reports for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 for the Huntingdon Life Sciences East Millstone, New Jersey laboratory. The release was entitled: "Pain for Dogs Doubles at Huntingdon Life Sciences; Overall HLS Experimentation Drops". You can read the full text of the press release and access the USDA reports below.

Latest on HLS financials

In 2009 Huntingdon's CEO Andrew Baker announced that he was offering to buy out HLS for $7.50 a share. This means he wants to buy all the unsold shares in the company and buy out all the existing shareholders so that he owns the company in full.

SHAC newsletter 52 The last three months have been devastating for Huntingdon, as their financial longevity starts to crumble. After a sustained campaign against Barclays for their position as HLS’ top institutional shareholder, they sold all of their shares, leaving Huntingdon once again below the minimum listing standards of the NYSE ARCA exchange. Unsurprisingly the NYSE have so far turned a blind eye to this breach of their own regulations, but as Barclays will tell them, there is only so long you can ignore SHAC! And it’s not just Barclays who have decided to find better places to invest their money; In the first few months of 2009, HLS lost 14 shareholders, including several from the top...
