Dawn Raids Back in Glasgow: Protest Saturday
This week, the first "dawn raid" of 2006 against Glasgow's asylum-seeking population was launched. The victims were the Akyol family, of Kurdish origin, who have lived in Glasgow for five years. Instead of the 'stick' of using enforced poverty and destitution against people seeking asylum in the UK, the Home Office has started using 'carrots' - offering asylum seekers bribes to give up their claims. Home Office in Glasgow locked down - 3 arrests
21 Nov 05: Once again the Home Office Immigration offices in Glasgow have been closed down by protesters. Earlier this morning 40 people gathered outside the building and padlocked two of the gates. 3 protestors have been arrested. More details and photos to follow on imc scotland:

Yesterday there was a demonstration with about 200 people in Komotini against the nearby refugee prison and a successfull attack against the prison in Vna.
The camp finishes today, there were no arrests.
