Why are Indy Mediae silent on these matters?

It's one thing to despise the racist state of Israel, another to deny the holocaust. It's one thing to call for a democratic secular state in which Jews and Palestinians can live as equals, another to libel Jews as responsible for a genocide that claimed six million Jewish lives.

Many Jews, myself included, would dearly love to see Israel fall. But when the argument against Zionism is couched in such overtly racist terms, it doesn't just exclude people like us, it excludes everyone to the left of the British National Party

If Faruq Ahmed's 'A' and 'B' letters were not drafted by a Mossad agent, they certainly should have been. They will help noone but the neo-nazi's and an Israeli propaganda machine that has only has one lie to fall back upon - that anti-Zionism is anti-semitic.

A debate on Israel in the anti-capitalist movement is desperately needed, but this isn't it. More than that, Indymedia should NOT be giving space to Holocaust denial.

I got nothing against Jews. I got nothing against people but I condemn Israeli Zionism.

Being German, wordings like these make me sick - why spoil your arguments like this? The Holocaust 'the product of one 'bad' man'? This is ridicolous. Please don't use the cheap comparison of (indeed) racist politics of the state of Israel to the Nazis - it doesn't help and weakens any argument you might have.

The NSDAP had won free elections in 1933, and were backed not only by fringe extreme nationalists and the right middle-classes. With their pseudo-socialist appearance they managed to win as well considerable support from the disillusioned working class and the petty bourgeoisie after the (initially successful) German revolution of 1917 had failed miserably throughout the 20's and 30's. The destruction of half of Europe and the murder of millions of people (and not only jews) involved a vast amount of the population, and almost all Germans went along - if not they ended in the camps as well.

And being part of the IMC-UK collective, I have to comment on the point of the now indeed ALLEGED 'silence' of the imc's : This author (posting from australia) has posted the same article under the different name 'biplopy' on the sydney.imc page four days after posting it here, see the link underneath. There you'll find a more vivid discussion than here. And please surf as well to imc-israel and you'll see that there is a lot of discussion about the issues. The very existence of the israel imc is a slap in the face of any argument that the imc's are 'silent' on what's going on. I wonder why faruque/biplopy doesn't post there - he probably uses another pseudonym... jihad?

The imc's have an open posting system where everyone can post - otherwise a manipulative article like the one above wouldn't have any chance of publication. I don't see a reason to hide this article as it is arguing a political side, even if done manipulatively (we HAVE hidden overtly racist articles). But this kind of arguing politics can't just be left alone without comment.
