Tube Strikes to go Ahead in February

Rev. O'Lushen | 25.01.2001 18:20

Train drivers unions on London Underground have voted for three strikes on 5, 12 and 19th February.

Tube drivers are saying NO to Labour government plans to bring capitalism to an already run down, aging system. Privatisation can only mean less safety, fewer rights for workers and worse conditions for everyone. Blair seems to be impervious to learning common sense lessons, whether in creating employment for Peter Mandelson, or letting private companies run the railways with laissez faire. No more Mandelsons, and no more Railtracks either !

On the relavant days, everybody head to your nearest tube station and give the staff your support.

good strikes!

Publicised strikes don't crumble the capitalistic system they arm them with plan B; surprises-un-awares shake the Fat-cats. Publicising strikes is indeed a cowardly way of fighting the Peter Mandelsons of Britain!

What a silly comment

Now, Joram, I've come across some of your contributions before and I've generally agreed with them. But this one is, sorry to say, ridiculous ! British anti-union law is fairly tough at the present time and as much as I would like to see a mass workers uprising and

Strikes

..."anti-union law is fairly tough at the present time" you're reasoning like a 16 carrat coward. Comrades stand infront of bullets..to reclaim freedom,...teargas to reclaim equality and justice. Ehh, Rev. lost faith in your little book?

got cut off...

...and as much as I would like to see a mass workers uprising, clearly the unions dont feel confident enough at the moment. if this series of strikes goes well, they might get that confidence, esp if we, as tube passengers, support them !

PS what little book are you referring to ? Mao Tse Tung's ?

USEFUL WEBSITES FOR THE STRIKE

26.01.2001 19:48

I've tried to link the CATP, the Campaign Against Tube Privatization, which fielded candidates in recent elections with some success and which we can be sure will be part of the up and coming strikes.

It also turns out that the Underground scum management is running an online poll to try and grub up strikebreaker sentiment. Go to "www.thetube.com" and register a vote for the strike...

Conspiracy is Rife

27.01.2001 14:37

As a direct result of privatisation, our rail service is in chaos and commuters are paying with their lives. Now the Capitalists want to visit this nightmare on tube and plane passengers. This has caused further congestion on roads and has literally crippled all forms of travel. I think this is a deliberate policy to create 'order' out of chaos (the motto of the NWO) and incite discontent and rebellion, to justify the forthcoming crack-down, using the ready-implemented laws, like the Criminal Justice Act, Crime and Disorder Act, Domestic Terrorist Act, Anti-Social Behaviour Laws etc. How convenient. But beware you ain't seen nothin' yet! FOOD is their ultimate weapon....as Africans well know!

Beware

Chaos for More Deregualtion

28.01.2001 12:11

By creating instability in the service, tube managers create the feeling that deregulation is the answer... but the railways have put a stop to that one. Campaigning for public control, with no compensation to the city fat cats and corporate murder charges to be brought against railtrack for instance would inspire people to fight.

Pass the buck

Indupitably...but when are charges ever bought? They've made it virtually impossible to make anyone culpable by the criteria which must be met to prove any individuals responsibility. They always blame the dead driver, in crashes, (plane crashes too) because they can't defend themselves!
