http://www.statewatch.org/soseurope.htm Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. This legislation will make existing police corruption look positively benign. The potential criminal (corporate criminal or organised criminal - what difference?) benefits from access to such quantities of personal data is enormous, from insider trading, blackmail, suppression all the way through to minor 'officers' trawling the data for convenient people to frame/ women to harass/ data to sell on to marketing companie etc.etc.etc. under the pretext of general information gathering about some minor crime. It will intensify the corruption of state from all sides.
