Letter to the swedish embassy II

Jerome Morrow | 17.06.2001 17:15

Print, sign and send to your local embassy

Dear Sir/Madam,

I truly sorry and disgusted by the violence protestors used during the Gothenburg 2001 event, and I hope the injured policemen will recover from this acts of violence imposed on them. I also wish to give my support to the policeman who had to use live ammunition to save his colleague from being attacked. He did what he had to do in order to protect himself.

I wish to give the Swedish Government my full support in their actions, and I suggest that you are to see to that the professional protesters do not have the chance to do it again, since they clearly showed that they couldn’t be trusted with being civilized people.

I am proud to see the peaceful nation of Sweden protect that peace by using the police to save innocent people from danger.

Best regards,

______________

Violence, no thanks!

18.06.2001 01:25

I think that it is very sad that some groups of people are protesting with violence. Dressing all in black, covering their faces. They are to covard to do anything with their faces not covered!!!

Say NO to these covards that can`t do anything creative! Say YES to the people that can protest without violence! Say what you want in a peaceful way, don`t come to Sweden and destroy Gothenburg, a city with the kindest nicest people you can find! Enjoy life, stop to hate, say what you want with words, with writing...

Yes to a peaceful world and free word!!!

Best regards
Sad Swede

An open letter...

Dear Sir, I am writing to commend you for your bold innitiative in using alsatian dogs to attack the citizens of Gotenburg who do not want Star Wars and the militarization of space. I think you should have used Uzi's to open fire on the beligerents who want to see an end to arms sales to Israel and other totalitarian regimes. Hanging is too good for the yobs who want to protect Native American homelands from oil companies. How dare they try to stop the genocide in Africa when it's affording us luxuries.
Long may you defend the rights of the five richest families on Earth, to own it.

Honesty

peaceful protest has NEVER worked

18.06.2001 08:23

Name a protest movement that has taken on the state and won through the use of peaceful protest: the fact is that you can't, because there isn't one.

The state is an inherently violent organisation: be they swedish, brit or american, the nature of the state is violence, and that - unfortunately - is all they will understand. Let's talk about the violence of wage slavery, the state violence of wars, nuclear weapons, beatings, gas and horse charges. To the stsreets, comrades!

Is that letter written by the Swedish police?

18.06.2001 10:24

While I condemn the violence the protestors used, and I hope all injured police recover fully, I find this 'open' letter's tone is highly objectionable. In Israel the shooting of stone-throwing Palestinians by the Israeli army is rightly condemned by the rest of the world. In Sweden it seems as if it's standard police procedure. I urge everyone to ignore the previous letter and write their own to their Swedish embassies, telling them of their concerns about the ruthlessly draconian tactics used by the police.

You say:
'Name a protest movement that has taken on the state and won through the use of peaceful protest: the fact is that you can't, because there isn't one. '

Um, haven't you heard of Gandhi at all? I wish all you folk who advocate violence would study him - just a little? Please?

Oh, and ask yourselves this - where does violence end? Do you have the resources to stand up to nuclear attack? Biological attack? Chemical attack? Undercover attack? No of course you don't and never will unless you become the state itself...

Our protest does not require violence - it is what we are protesting against, isn't it? The violence that State perpetrates against populace? The rape of the developing world? The rape of our common resources? Think about it! We are 'fighting' bankers - use their tools against them. Get wise - it's the best ATTAC of all.

Violence wears uniform

18.06.2001 12:32

From the reports i've heard, the swedish pigs were pysched up to the max, and probably would have fired on pensioners on that day. I am extremely sad to see that some police were injured, however it seems to me the more injuries the police sustain, the better it can only be for peaceful protesters, nearly all of whom have no defence against the police who have a reputation of blindly storming in and beating up everyone in sight.

Bearing in mind the fact that these people are brain-dead mindcontrolled psychopaths, which we are not allowed to defend ourselves from, can we please see more injuries/suicides etc in future from the boys in blue.
