1.) demonstration forbidden by the police
after a round table, where officials and organisers of the protest participated, the police forbid any demonstration for sunday, 1st of july. there will be no legal demonstration against the wef-meeting. the only legal meeting point will be at the railway station from 14:00. the police plans to install three security-zones in salzburg, whereby the last two zones will only be open for participants of the european economic summit and the police. even the public transposrt system has no permission to enter these two zones.
the antiwef-coordination and other groups still mobilise for a demonstration. from now on, it's not anymore a demonstration against the wef, but a demonstration for freedom of speech and against police repression too.
smash the wef, for freedom of speech and against repression!!!

2.) police plans to close the border from 25th of june till 3rd of july
from 25th of june 0:00 till 3rd of july 24:00 the schengen treaty between germany/austria and italy/austria will be cancelled. the police plans to do heavy controlls in cooporation with the police from italy and bavaria. the schengen treaty will also be cancelled for the airport of salzburg.
the minster of inner affairs of bavaria Guenther Beckstein (CSU) said, that ist necessary, "because of the left-extremist bordercrossing violence." the police-officer in charge of Salzburg, Karl Schweiger, confirms, that the work between officials from bavaria, austria and italy is excellent.
the antiwef-coordination recommends, to travell in convois or small cars and to look for different border-stations. we want to remind you of the border telephone:

3.) austrian press prepares massive repression against demonstrators
in the last days, especially after the eu-summit in gotheburg, the austrian media legitimates nearly every action taken against demonstrators. about the shots in gothenborg, the media wrote, that demonstrators tried to kill police officiers, and that the shots were absolutly necessary. because of the clima, produced by newspaper articles, the police has now free hand, to deal with protesters as they want to.
