When you're waking up in your own bed I'm sure these memories will come back to haunt you, as with others who were subjected to this brutal treatment, or who witnessed the violence but came out better off. It's human, and those of us who are moved to protest against the inhumanity of our current systems are probably more succeptible than others. But we will be stronger and more determined. We are here for you and all those who stood together in the streets of Genoa.

I am ashamed, ashamed as a British Citizen that my Government did nothing to protect the human rights of its citizen abroad. I am also ashamed of myself for having been an ‘armchair’ supporter of the struggle for a just world order since the G8 protest in Birmingham. However it seems there can only be one valid response to the terrible and horrific experiences of Norman and others and that is to put even more people on the streets next time.
