police suffer trauma - and so do their victims!!

Language of marginalisation: The mainstream media coverage on police suffering trauma in riots while putting out photographs of 14 Bradforders and the police violence in Italy is creepy!

Police officers involved in dealing with the Bradford race riots are launching a claim for millions of pounds in damages over the 'trauma' they suffered - while putting out photographs of 14 youth who figthed them and the fascists attacking their communities (what a fucked up term that is - 'community' - sounds like 'ghetto', be aware of the creepy language of marginalisation!!).

On the same day (29/7/01) the guardian online has also a full report on the abuse activists suffered in the hands of the italian police, as well as featuring the police's war style battle techniques in Genoa. The article finally states:

"The movement's core activists are clearly as determined as ever. The risk of more deaths has
become acceptable. It is unlikely Giuliani's bloody killing will be the last. 'It is a war and in a war people die,' said Scott." (did he say it this way?)

Eh, looks glam but we should be very wary of this sort of coverage. Think very carefully about the difference between intelligent tactics - tactics which make an long lasting impact - and violent outbursts, which do nothing but feeding the lust for blood + sensation of the mainstream media and give the state arguments for the marginalisation of the movement + individual groups. Strange tone in these articles of the guardian / the observer and very strange positioning... they distribute the politics of marginalisation while hoping/waiting for people to freak out and declare war - with the result that more people are dying? Who would benefit from this? Be aware of old frustrated journalists. Their lost dreams and everyday tactics do not only suck, they can be very dangerous, too!!

What is going to happen with the 14 Bradforders? Any intelligent activities in sight?

Escalation

Well, I think the Italian authorities must be on the same stuff that Bush Jnr is on these days ( delusions of grandeur ) when they thought they could pull that off!

There are rumours that more are dead, and the mind boggles as to what will happen to those Italians that were arrested!

Politiclly, for an EU member to openly abuse the human rights of other member states in this fashion ( and morally even if they were "terrorists!" which by all accounts they were not ) was bound to be impossible to pull off without a major "international incident."

And I must admit for a few days it looked as though they would pull it off ( after Tony Blair's open support for police shooting at unarmed civillians in Gothenburg and the general words of support from all G8 members in Genoa ).

It's good to see something approaching a bigger picture is being portrayed by The Media ( no doubt, under great pressure and charges of looking in the other direction ), it is unfortunate however that the very same media has done such a great hatchett job in portraying anyone who protests ( seeks to raise the quality of life for ALL ) as a violent enemy!

The other inevitable ( perhaps the very point of the recent policing tactics, if we want to get into counter intelligence conspricay theories ) is that the the ante has now been upped, and revenge from pro-violence factions will be unsurprising. Perhaps the G8 club wants the violent facton to be pushed to the fore early and the "ring leaders" to be "neutralised". If that is the tactic, it is laughable on 2 fronts:

1. The whole notion is blinded by authoritarianism. The antiglobalisation is the product of the outrage of people everywhere and not some marxist terrorist organisation with leaders and a command centre.

2. They have learnt nothing from the Irish situation if they think that will be a successful tactic.

So, much for democracy... and they wonder why participation in elections is nosediving???

Come to the UK and get fined £2000 for not registering to vote and get put in jail if you refuse to pay the fine!

Come to the UK and get fined £1,000 for wearing a scarf over your face, and refusing to remove it, to be photographed for a data-base, kept in the central global computer at Alice Springs, underground base, paid for by the Queen.

Have your "ghettos" invaded by marauding military police, witness your friends get beaten and arrested and then watch the police get compensation for the trauma they inflicted, by protecting the BNP.

The Usual Suspects

And when are we going to see the ring leaders of racial hatred on trial?

Surely the media and New Labour and Conservatives were well aware what they they were doing whipping up racial hatred and spreading lies about a non-issues ( asylum ) in the very same manner that politicians in Germany were doing ten years and were also aware to the what that provoked ( every conceivable violent crime including many murders )

The true colours of the Establishment: the addiction for power and material gain comes before human life and human dignity.

There is a link between Bradford and Genoa - not least a ready tooled up police force (Italy) and one that wants to be (UK) - Blunkett has already opted for the softest option - water cannon. Both forces were out for a ruck - in Genoa this is obvious - in Bradford the centre was emptied of normal life thru police warnings and left for unmolested nazis, asian young people and the anl, mounted police and riot squad tucked in every backstreet, to set the scene. The publication of photos - including one or two young kids - describing them as 'key' perpetrators has obviously prejudiced their trials - 4 have given themselves up as a result of publication - as well - i should imagine have opened them up to revenge attacks from right wing hooligans or people of similar appearance or just all young asians - and more pics are promised. The genoa demonstrators have at least some 'white' pressure to defend - however disgustingly late and mild the response of the corporate media has been. The Bradford kids have noone to defend them as yet - beyond specified ''elders' (and betters) who are primarily interested in protecting a respectable and submissive front and business interests. The troubles in Bradford have now been described at least twice as rioting between asian and white youth - in the Observer and on local'pulse' radio - the history is being revised - dont forget the links - the resistance is the same all over
