why not to 'name and shame;' why to try and

...gotta disagree...in any system there will be problems. these will be compounded by poverty and low status. the nhs and the social services in the united knigdom both suffer from these problems - when viewed in comparison with other government departments. for example, the nhs has been massively underfunded over the past 20 years. and having anything to do with social services is tantamount to admitting that one is not as good as another.
consequently, staff recruitment and retention in both these services is low - and worse in more difficult areas, be that discipline of geography. more examples are the crises in provision of mental health services nationwide, or of social services in inner city areas, which tend to have the most rapid turnover of staff and the greatest number of social problems due to communities being in a state of great flux.
when the staff of support services are treated like shit, of course it becomes neccessary to look after yourself first. If i haven't eaten or slept in 24 hours, do you really expect me to be 100% dedicated to my patient?? I think it is more important to get a hot meal, and sit down for 20 minutes, than to see somebody who is not at immediate risk of dying (although they may be in some discomfort). That way, i am more likely to be prepared when my crash bleep does go off, adn i have to be present to deal with the victim of a road traffic accident or a heart attack.
"Sutch coruption allows all manner of mistreatment to take place and destroys peoples lives. The victims have no more power to protect themselves, in order to change this the facts must be documentad and made available to the public."
i would, perhaps, re-phrase this to say that 'such UNDERFUNDING allows all manner of mistreatment to take place...' IF there were adequate staff, IF they were adequately compensated, mistreatment should never occur - for it is very rarely done maliciously, but more often than not as an act of self-preservation, as i described above. The huge majority of people in mental health, physical health adn social services are there 'out of the goodness of their hearts.' yes, a bit of a cliche, but do you really think they are there for the money?? or the 'power'?
perhaps, social/political groups should bear this in mind. the working classes of the health and social service world have been used as political beating sticks since the development of the welfare state post-WWII - is it not time to 'get them on our side' rather than creating another enemy??

but is redirected to exploiters.
Their are many issues that need social political atention because we live in an abusive society, but the plight of vulnerable people is an issue witch needs more exposure.
