Around two hundred people participated in the regular tuesday night (6pm) anti-war vigil in whitehall, opposite Downing Street.

Several events were announced at the vigil -

ACT FOR PEACE VIGIL:
If bombing starts, come to the vigil on the night of the bombing - 6pm Downing Street

Thus 4th October: VIGIL AT PARLIAMENT - No More Violence
12 noon to 7pm
(On the island in the square; nearest tube: Westminster)

Stand shoulder to shoulder for peace and justice and give a clear message to Members of Parliament as they meet to debate the crisis.

Petitions being handed in at 9am. Arrange to meet your MP beforehand to put our case. If you can't come for the whole time, come for priority times:

12-2pm and 5-7pm

Peace and Justice for all - Stop Star Wars - No nuclear weapons

Assemble in Hyde Park (Marble Arch end) at 12noon and march at 1pm to Trafalgar Square for a rally

NO STAR WARS: ORGANISING AGAINST BUSH'S NATIONAL MISSILE DEFENCE PROGRAMME
University of Westminster, 115 New Cavendish Street W1 (tube: Gt. Portland Street) 10.30am-5pm.

Sunday 21st October: CIVIL DISOBEDIANCE SIT DOWN PROTEST

A non-violent sit down protest. Assemble Temple Place 1pm to march down Whitehall and take part in a peacefull non-olent direct action. People are asked to wear black and not bring banners or shout slogans to reinforce the peaceful nature of the action.

All welcome if you respect the NVDA GUIDELINES:
No violence, no threat of violence, no property damage, no drugs / alcohol, no chanting.

Someone also spoke about how unhappy many people and ARROW where with the Stop the War coalition meeting last week, saying it was conducted in an undemocratic way. They said ARROW would be asking for proper votes on the chair of the meetings and the platform and committee of the coalition at the meeting which was going on that night at 7.30pm
