Big difference between current US situation and Third Reich - Hitler was voted in by a majority; Bush was not (as final election results revealed this week).

The Nazis never won a majority of votes in a national election until AFTER Hitler was appointed Chancellor. The Nazis could have been stopped if the anti-fascist and democratic forces had taken them seriously and stopped fighting each other.
