And you do this several times. If you're going to post something how about a description of what it is? An explanation about it, you know, information.

The nature of posts on IndyMedia
05.02.2002 23:19
I think this goes to the heart of debate about IndyMedia and what is news or not news or junk etc.
It's obvious it's not news. It's also obviously not advertising a corporate product, or a political party. It is creative work.
So is creative work, poems and cartoons allowable on indymedia - it certainly seems so by what's been allowed to stay on the site in the past.
Then as another person has stated the post was short of details and I think this is an important point. Just posting a link to another site with no explanation, or the sort of 'Go on clich the link' type of exclamation, is to be discouraged. That said there has to be a balance between saying nothing and copying whole websites onto the IndyMedia servers (which could be possible). I think this is what the outline box is for when posting. People should give an outline and maybe an extract of what it is they are linking to, it's a matter of courtesy and of good practice.
Fluff.
