7.00. am
Firenze. Torino . Bologna Carabinieri (paramilitary police) awake some social centers addressed as indymedia centers. It seems to be back in a demo: three landrover, a van and a couple of cars more carry out the search.
They are looking for audio and video material from Indypendent Media Center (Indymedia): it is a national police operation. Still going on.
Scajola (our Interiori Minister) goes beyond words and Genoa is back in the headlines.
Independent information pays the price of the Single Thought.
Genoa aftermath begins to be more clearly outlined, after misty and partial enquiries and investigation looking for ppolice violence evidences, now repression kicks in.
Looking for excuses.

Heightening repression against Indymedia

20.02.2002 11:05

How long will it be before indymedia is run underground? A similar site in India - tehelka.com - is being closed down by the government after it revealed massive corruption within the BJP, the right-wing party elected to government on the promise of sweeping away corruption. Many people are afraid of posting to india.indymedia for fear of police violence.
Other anarchist or progressive news sites are being hounded off the net in a similar way. Italy is a prime example of where indymedia is simply not tolerated. I fear that UK's indymedia will come under wave of repression under new anti-terrorism legislation.

Be warned: it could be you!

Italian Governement and Fascist attack

20.02.2002 13:17

Fascist govern in Italy, is runnign to get total control of territory. Even if intelectuals and politics from "sinistra" are all talking about justice none is doing anything against this incredible situation. The attack to Indymedia is developping from the Indymedia centres to private flats of peoples related to indymedia. This new attack shows the stupidity and arrogance of the government and of its minister Scajola and on the other side the weakness of the institutional politics opposition.

In the past days Government said that they want to close all the inquiries about Genova today they add this fascist attack crashing computers, and stealing documents and other material.

Everyone know that this government come directly from old fascist, mafia, P2 and '80 socialist gangsters as Craxi. The effort to contrast this growing blobbing shit is hard and have to be focused on communication and relationship. In italy there's no way to comunicate because of Berlusconi and government controll the most part of communication channel (TV, Paper, Radio) . We need to receive more resources from the stranger Media especially European Media.
Talk about this new attack, write about this all around because of today a new fascist idiot and violent group is growing and we have to stop with a big CHORUS OF FREE PEOPLE.

agenda item

20.02.2002 22:38

See, I get a lot of flak for continually posting 'conspiracy' stuff to im. But I think the main thrust of the argument is only too correct and visibly happening. one function of 9-11 was to rapidly shut down all opposition including internet forms. And already it's very close to home. The closure of switzerland and now this.I don't agree with some of the background stuff on the attached link - I get some joy from hip hop, rap and other degenerate forms of music, I live in a major multicultural city and believe the cross-currents to be very positive, I don't have a problem with leftist liberal kind of thinking and take free-schooling to be the best educational model for our children. Yet you can see the agenda described being perpetrated day by day. In my view the left to anarchist spectrum has to take this stuff on board and dress it in their own theory. We're all going to get fucked over very shortly if we don't.

shout now

21.02.2002 00:33

sounds like we all want to fight something but we dont know what we are fighting against this makes us confused and so unhappy and or frustrated, which makes us angry. in the end what will happen will happen and the natural order shall win. and if you (as i) feel that now is the moment to shout, it does not matter who is to blame, this is the natural time to do it. it needs to be done. now.
