Around 5pm - the Sex workers union held a carnival in Compton street - centre of londons Gay and sex scene - The Rythems of Resistance provided a powerful dance tune with amazing energy - a true celebration.

The carnival should have kept moving

The sex workers carnival should have kept moving around the streets of Soho and not stopped for ages and ages in Wardour Street. That way it would not have got penned in at the end by riot police. The march itself moved very very slowly for about an hour then completely ground to a halt in Wardour Street and stayed there without moving for nearly two hours.

The whole point of this years protests was to keep everyone moving inorder to avoid being penned in like last year. I don't know what the organisersof the sex workers carnival were thinking about doing, they should have known what would happen if they stopped for a long period of time in one place!
