“Iraqi War Song” Gives Protesters Musical Boost:
Country Joe McDonald’s Woodstock Anthem Updated
Sandpoint, ID — The famous Vietnam War protest anthem written and performed by Country Joe McDonald at the historic Woodstock concert in 1969, has been re-released with updated lyrics to serve the rapidly growing anti-globalization and War protest movement. The single titled, “The Iraqi War Song’ or ‘Feel Like
I’m Smelling a Rat Rag,’” is a parody of the original “Feel Like I’m Fixin’ to Die Rag” that became the “rallying cry” of the hippie and baby-boomer generations. The song helped bring an end to the Vietnam War.
The new lyrics were written and sung by an award winning health science writer and leading critic of the Bush administration’s emergency preparedness plans for domestic bioterrorism, Dr.
Leonard Horowitz. The heavily credentialed doctor is currently
working with Amnesty International officials in support of their
developing HIV/AIDS human rights petition. He conceived of the
project and contacted Joe McDonald (of “Country Joe and the
Fish”) for support, which the folk hero freely granted.

The new song by “Country Bumpkin and the Hogs” offers comical
hard-hitting lyrics that include references to the president
as “that son-of-a-Bush,” who directs a globalist war for
oil. “Most people know it’s a scam,” yet do nothing. “With
Prozac-minds we don’t care to know why, whoopee we’re all gonna
die!”

The single, released today on CD by a non-profit publisher,
Tetrahedron, LLC, is freely downloadable from
www.healingcelebrations.com with a small optional donation
requested ($4.49). All profits will be distributed to Amnesty
International—among Joe McDonald’s favorite charities—to support
the organization’s ongoing HIV/AIDS investigations, and to
establish a special “Fund For American Political
Prisoners,” sponsored by Dr. Horowitz.

The publisher has asked individuals who freely download the CD
to help distribute it to radio producers and hosts for repeated
royalty-free broadcasting.

The "Iraqi War Song" CD is expected to be made available through
music and bookstores by mid-October. Until then, all orders and
inquiries should be directed to the publisher at 1-888-508-4787.
Country Joe's website, which links to all major anti-war protest
and human rights organizations, is:  http://www.countryjoe.com.
