Dear Roberts,

Monsieur Ménard and Mister Cox, hello again! This is Al Giordano of Narco News, one of the journalists in Latin America who, all summer long, has been calling your attention to serious threats against press freedom –
shootings, torture, imprisonment, all exhaustively documented – against journalists in Venezuela.

And neither of you cowards has yet to answer the queries from the journalists you claim to protect and represent.

Well, Roberts – can I call you “Bobs”? – Maybe I’ve been too hard on you. I’m really starting to like you guys. Both of you have become the perfect poster boys for the Threats to Press Freedom that come from the very groups that claim to defend freedom of the press.

Y’see, your silence in the face of the overwhelming evidence has served as an educational lesson for journalists all over the world who’ve contacted us
ever since we began, on July 29th, sending you open letters and informing you of the fact that radio journalist Nicolás Rivera is still in prison. (And, FYI, he's still there, abandoned by your organizations.)

We’ve discovered that were not alone at all in our conclusion that both you guys are frauds, fronting for big money interests and endangering journalists – not helping us – through your selective and corrupted process of deciding which journalists deserve protection and which do not.

In a handful of weeks, an informal global network of journalists has emerged; we’re all in contact with each other now, all of us united by our conclusions that you guys aren’t the solution to threats against press
freedom. You are a big part of the problem.

So, first, let me say THANK YOU for bringing us together – through your unethical simulator activities – to defend ourselves and each other!

One of those journalists is the great Belgian independent television journalist Thierry Deronne, who’s analysis of the behavior of your organizations – “Reporters Without Borders” and the “Inter-American Press Association” – has been circulating in French around the Internet for some
days now.

Deronne has dug up information on the misdeeds of “Reporters Without Borders” in recent weeks promoting the next coup attempt in Venezuela, and also – listen to this – he’s unearthed historic archival information about
the complicity of the “Inter-American Press Association” in the 1973 coup d’etat in Chile!

Had you been responsive to the documented evidence presented to you last summer, this journalist probably would have never found such dirty laundry in your closets. But your arrogance, your corruption, your falseness,
your dishonesty, all the bull that streams from your mouths, have now united the people you claim to protect to defend ourselves against you!

Of course, not everybody reads French, so, today, Narco News has translated the results of Deronne’s investigation into English. You – and everybody else – can read it online and marvel at your poster-boy photographs at:

 http://www.narconews.com/deronne1.html

Shortly, we’ll have this text posted in Spanish, too.

Anyway, keep it up guys! Groucho Marx had only one Mrs. Teasdale but, now,I’ve got you… the Two Bobs!

Please send an address to which I can donate to keep you two clowns in business. I’ve got a pile of old devalued Argentine pesos I’ll like to send you… C.O.D.

In the meantime, Bobs, you’ve taught us all an important lesson: That the biggest threat to press freedom comes from the Commercial Media and its front-groups like Distorters Without Borders and the Inter-American Paid Association.

But the bull stops here, Bobs.

Toodles,

From somewhere in a country called América,

Al Giordano
