Police persued hundreds of students, pensioners, radical cheerleaders and trolly pushing parents through Oxford. A mad dash down Oxfords traffic clogged streets ended outside the Said business school (funded by Mr W. Said,an arms dealer).The School responded by erecting metal barriers with chains and ringing the doors with security.

American and British students joined forces to blockade the street by lying down, to be joined by banner waving pensioners. Police called in horses and a dog handler and extra troops. The demonstration became a stand off as campaigners refused to move and Police shouted through a loud hailer without batteries.

Ignoring the Police, one Stamford university U.S student said "We have to show the world that many Americans are also against this war"

In keeping with the Halloween tradition of the day a local man dressed as a ghost was arrested and carried off by four police officers. At least six others were arrested including Americans for obstruction of the highway. Heavy handed tactics such as pressure point were used. Protests were held all over Britain.

BBC oxford and ITV ignored the most radical direct action against the war to hit Oxford to date.
